Animax Forum - View topic - Animax to broadcast the entire DRAGON BALL series

Animax have shown the entire Dragon Ball anime series, including the original Dragon Ball series, its sequel, Dragon Ball Z, and its later sequel, Dragon Ball GT, in its original parent network in Japan, and will, in June 2006, start broadcasting the entire Dragon Ball series in its Southeast Asian network (known as Animax-Asia), in the English language - they are already releasing a widely-anticipated preview soon. In a recent press release, Animax has stated:

Quote:

Showing the most popular anime that have garnered massive followings in Japan and around the world, programmes on Animax cater to viewers of varying viewing preferences. Animax features programmes of various genres, from action (Blood+, Trinity Blood) to sci-fi (Ghost in the Shell), romance (Paradise Kiss and Honey & Clover) to drama (Black Jack, Jigoku Shojo), and all time favorites (Dragon Ball) to provide viewers with the ultimate anime viewing experience.

Animax generally broadcasts their latest anime series in its Southeast Asian network (known as Animax-Asia) (though sometimes Animax's latest anime have been broadcast simultaneously both in Southeast Asia and South Asia e.g. Emma - A Victorian Romance, Captain Tsubasa ~ Road to Dream (a.k.a. Flash Kicker), and very soon after, broadcasts its anime in its South Asian network (i.e. in the Indian Subcontinent). Recent examples have included Kino's Journey which was broadcast first in Animax-Asia in January or February 2006, I think, and then very soon, in March or somewhere close to that date, in South Asia, Flame of Recca, and so many others.

Therefore, it is highly likely and 100% confirmed (especially after their media release) that Animax will broadcast the entire Dragon Ball series soon after in South Asia! Rejoice DBZ fans.

But there's a catch, the official DBZ Dubs, Cartoon Network STILL holds the licence for the FUNImation english dubs, and uses it to Re-Dub it in hindi with music and themse from the FUNI dub.

And also, that says DB will start in June...and Junes here but there's still nothing airing on animax for its pre-release.

Well lets hope for the best :ohyeah:

good thing...i hope the broadcast the whole set if they start....else its' gonna break the hearts of many.......but thinking abt DBZ in Hindi...

DragonBall Isnt That Great,DBZ On The other hand Made Me A Fan Of Anime:P,DBZ Fans Should Also Try Naruto And Bleach...

Wow!!! This is a GREAT News for all DBZ fans:ohyeah:  ... but anyway i hve seen every thing incl. movies, so i may not watch in animax, may be once in a while:).

Seen the GT movie as well as the 4 DB movies:D, 2 spcls and even a movie or spcl. called "The Last Movie:-Plan to Destroy the Saiyans"

I Personally Nerver liked Db:P,But Its Always nice To See A Dragonballz Fanatic,
I Downloaded Everything From Movies to Eps On A 56k Dialup Line:P:rofl:

lol, i also did dload on 56k dialup line :D . A fanatic here too. n de same, i also dint lyk DB dat much. Yep I have seen all movies eps except that of DB. I have seen only Path to Power Movie of DB.

Well as for me i am a wild db fanatic.
Downloaded all the eps right from db to dbgt and all the movies.
Used to stay awake whole night long to watch the episodes.
I found dbgt to be crap compared to db and dbz.Dbgt lacked the punch and the enigma that db and dbz had.Neways dbgt was directed by totally different person,so really cant blame.

Dragonball>DragonballZ>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dragonball GT, IMO.

DBZ was the same over and over again.

Villain no 1 comes, beats Goku. Goku lives and trains. Goku beats Villain no.1, repaet with Villain no.2 and so on to god knows what number.

DB actually was much more interesting imo. It starts out slowly with a kiddish, non-violent appeal from Goku as a child, then steps onto much serious atmosphere as goku trains and gets older, and turns extremely violent and full of tension by the king piccolo saga.

Simply put -

DB - all about humans, extremely good balance of violence and comedy.

DBZ - Good mix of Humans and Saiyans. Tien said hello to Saiyans and bid farewell to Buu as well. 90% of it was training, and violence.

DBGT - 100% Pure Saiyan worship. Annoying=Pan! We would've had Goten instead but Pan just cheated herself in the spaceship. Also its inconsisten, Ssj4 Goku couldn't beat what Base kid Goku beat! (See Super Android 17's fight). It tries to do what Dragonball did, bring comedy as well as violence but they sort of successed only half way through.

Anyways, it BETTER not be in hindi! Also, the score of the FUNImation DBZ is a hell of lot better than the japanese original soundtrack! Believe me, they'll only appeal to japanese crowd but to the rest sounds like some songs being played from one of those sing-a-long a story casettes for kindergarden students. The song that was played in the background when Goku first turned Ssj3 has got to be one of the best music in whole of anime! Its soundtracks can be seperately bought under Bruce Faulconer records, as well.

Also, we're sort of used to the old voices from the FUNI dub. I think ANImax should try to inquire the Funimation licence from cartoon network and i think they can easily do it. Cartoon Network itself makes modifications to Funi dubs and airs it in freakin' hindi!
