Re: Rockboxing the Sansa Clip+

I already upgraded mine to the latest version :P so its safe to use  I'll be upgrading to all the latest builds as they come along.

Re: Rockboxing the Sansa Clip+

You mentioned database, so is there any way to transfer playback count or date played data for each track back to a PC via some sort of sync.

Re: Rockboxing the Sansa Clip+

There is a last.fm scrobbler option, that records what tracks you have played etc. That might help you.

Database is the list of all songs by artist, album, etc. Just like the stock clip+ artist/album browsing scheme.

Re: Rockboxing the Sansa Clip+

No risk.

I just downloaded this

http://download.rockbox.org/daily/sansaclipplus/rockbox-sansaclipplus-20100512.zip

http://anythingbutipod.com/images/f...otloader-sansaclipplus-01.02.13-dual_boot.zip

Copied the .rockbox folder to the root drive, copied both firmware and bootloader from the other zip file to root directory. Safely remove the player from windows, let it reboot. Firmware upgrade takes 2 mins. Go to database and initialise it, reboot. Start enjoying rockbox :P

If you dont like the UI, you can always customise it :P go to settings, themes and experiment.

I found one small issue with FM.Whenever i start FM all i can hear is static, then i navigate to other radio stations, then the reception comes.

With 92% battery it showed 17 Hrs of play time remain. I dont believe it much though.

installed Rockbox. Amazing features. games, apps.....there are lot's of stuff, I never knew.(knew about Rockbox, but never knew it had so many options)

I want the main menu to be same as that OF.(the big icon displaying only one option. viz Audio/ FM/ Voice/ Setting). Can that be done?

btw I have tested battery life of my sana clip+ by continuously playing songs, at mid level of volume and display was used as minimum as possible. I got 19hrs of playback.

Are you serious -19 hrs :O ? That almost sounds impossible. During my testing of battery life using differentbitrate files the max juice I could get out of a Clip+ was 10 hrs with 128 kbps files , stock earphones and 0% screen usage. This is without memory card as well.

Otherwise , It gives ~7-8 hrs with 320 files and a better IEM. :P 6 hrs with memory card is the worst Ive seen .

Someone plz give me a demo how to install rockbox dayam!! pictorial demo..... plz take remopte access of my pc and help me :baby:

I get 5 hours with flac and memory card :(. If this is true, I too will try rockbox, which I used before with other players.

Hey you really need not worry about doing it yourself

1. Download the two zip files mentioned by sunnyboi in 3rd post

2. Extract the two zip files in a folder. You will get one folder named .rockbox and two files (.sansa and.bin)

3. Copy these three things (.bin,.sansa files and .rockbox folder) to the root directory of you player (internal memory and not on micro sd card)

4. Safely remove the player from machine

5. It will show...Updating Firmware and then it will shutdown (i guess)

6. Restart the player it will boot in the new rock box firmware

7. In case you want to boot in original firmware, press the << button and then press power button to start the player in original firmware

All set ???

Root directory means anywhere in the internal memory or some specific folder? :P
