Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus

a friend just got a galaxy nexus for 23000 . with 2 Free case's thrown in from Gaffar market , New delhi

mpaspc Can you ask your friend which shop in the market?

i had gone with him . have pm'ed you the shop name . I don't know if i should name the shop here .

Are the phones from Gaffar market in Delhi reliable? Was the phone company sealed?

There is always a Risk factor involved when purchasing phone Without Warranty . Please Understand the risk's . There are many dealers in Gaffar some of whom are trusted and some aren't . Even trusted dealers can screw you big time. You can get it at nearly the same price (a bit lower or higher depending upon the exchange rate ) if you import it directly via sns or iccworld . That way you can be assured that it's a new piece .

Can you send me the name as well? Do the shops there also stock other imported phones (AT&T models) etc.

The shop's name was Vaishno electronics . I had got a few phones from him in the past 2-3 months , that why i could get this at this rate .
I din't bargained a lot . Only a bit . and no it was not sealed . You
can get it directly by SNS for about 23k , if you can get someone to place your order . In this way you get a sealed piece

You should be able to use a VPN as well. Let me know if someone wants to go via that route from Bangalore. I can use my office US VPN :p
I so wanted to pick this up but got a 10 month old S2 @ 17k. So got that instead :D

You can ofcourse use the VPN but again you'll have to get it shipped to India and Google Play store only accepts payment through Google Wallet and somewhere I read that Indian cards are not valid for buying the Nexus from the US. What were you suggesting? Maybe there's another way I suppose?

I was talking about SNS + VPN + Google Wallet. It should work unless they specifically dont allow Indian CC to buy Nexus devices. My Google Wallet already has my Indian CC there and I could go as far as the check out. Didnt push the final button ofcourse :)

I am glad you didn't. They block your Google Wallet account then :p So tread with caution. Buying from the US is only possible if you have a friend coming from there. Or ebay.

I think Yo should wait for S4/Note 3/New Nexus.

I know phones are expensive but you have a million threads here asking for different phones. You will never enjoy any phone it seems. Just get a Nokia 1100 equivalent.

I have not read this thread but for anyone looking for a phone I would suggest buy whatever you feel comfortable with rather than playing the wait game. Technology is evolving everyday and whatever you or anyone buys is not going to be future proof be it phone, laptop, tablet anything.
If you like something buy it and don't go finding faults in what you bought as you will not be able to enjoy the product once you convince yourself that the phone is faulty.

Well said. If you keep waiting for a better one. You will be waiting for ever...

I was reading through this thread and found a couple of very funny things

1) People are paying 23k for a google nexus phone which is without warranty,
2) when you could get a used underwarranty galaxy s2 i9100 for 21k.
3) You could even get the new galaxy s2 for 27k
4) you could get similar HTC sensation imported w/o warranty set for 17.5k.(specs are similar + 8MP cam)
5) you could buy a HTC velocity for 21k.(1.5 ghz dual core processor)
6) You could buy a samsung t989 galaxy s2 for 23k (1.5ghz dual core processor) (imported and unlocked)

why would anybody wanna pay 23k for a 5MP phone when all the above listed phones are 8MP and are equally priced or cheaper than the i9250. I have actually seen and used the i9250 and its almost similar to the i9020/i9023 and I was not really impressed with the phone ... But then that was my opinion.
