i had issues with 500Gb Freeagent pro external HDD and got Seagate Extreme 1TB as a replacement as my 500gb was filled with Data and i was sad cos of the data loss, so they guess i was unhappy and replaced with 1TB
Ok so my friend got a conked 160GB 7200.10 drive as a replacement for a 7200.6 (IIRC) drive. The thing does not get powered. Talk of awesome customer services!
Have to shoot a mail to Accel Frontline separately concerning the matter.

When will seagate start door-to-door rma like WD? My 1tb .11 developed a bucketload of bad sectors overnight The stupid service center in andheri is closed on saturdays! Do they expect me to take a half day from work to rma the drive?
psst: Anyone from near andheri can help me rma? :ashamed:
Got a new Seagate 7200.10 ST3160815AS. 8MB cache as opposed to the previous 2MB ones. Not the certified repaired one. Finally Accel managed to send something which works.
WD warranty is better for me as I live in a remote place. They have an option for sending the drives on a to-pay basis while I have to send the Seagate drives at my own cost. I recently RMAed one of my Raptors but unfortunately recieved the to-pay info only after I had shipped the drive. Just a few weeks earlier I had sent 3 drives and one external to Seagate at my own cost and didn't know WD takes care of the shipping too. Lesson learnt !
If anyone applies for WD RMA, wait for a day or two for their e-mail detailing the to-pay shipping options.
Btw, Seagate was quite prompt in the replacements . No complaints there.
@coolraghav below:
I applied for RMA from their site and was given details of where and how to ship the defective drives.
I mean if there's a problem then only you go for it ?
