SONY Xperia NXT Series

DarkAngel - Naa not planning on buying from adexmart, they seems to a bit tight. Neither they have COD at my place nor their Cc seems very responsive.

I wont be betting on them atleast for now, will check other e-tailers, hs18 got the listing back @ 18.9k :)

There is no guarantee than the One S will be launched at a price point below 30k. It has been launched at 34k (after conversion) in Europe, just 1-2k below the One X. It has a Super AMOLED (though not HD) screen, Qc Krait (claimed to be faster than the quad core Tegra 3), so a ~30k price is really unlikely. Expect it to launch at ~33-34k
I doubt it mate. One X is clearly the HTC flagship. One S is inferior in screen resolution, screen size, screen technology (huge different between pentile amoled and slcd2), storage and even though Krait is efficient and faster clock to clock, Tegra3 might get better as apps start to utilize multiple cores, so One X is also kinda future proof for a long time to come.

I think there's a difference of 100 euros between the two. Also in India, few people have already got One X for a great deal at 34.2k. Considering this, One S should come in under 30k is what I feel. That would be in direct competition to Xperia S. If any higher than 30k, One X is clearly the better option then. Read somewhere that HTC is waiting for Sensation stocks to clear out before they bring in One S here.

Unfortunately, my prediction for the HTC One S's price turned out to be right. So, the Xperia P should easily be able to steamroll it since it is 10k cheaper, and has hardware only slightly inferior to it.
Sony has finally got a winner on its hands :)

Nope. The processor U8500 in xperia P is much inferior to the mighty Krait S4 in the One S. Check the benchmarks.
But no a big issue for a casual user and most probably the Xperia P also gets an official Jelly Bean upgrade.

Dual core is itself enough for the next couple of years, and the NovaThor is quite decent, though somewhat inferior to the krait as you pointed out. But, the difference is seen only in benchmarks at the moment. For real world experience, all apps can run easily on the Xperia P too for a few years, UI should be smooth too as it depends more on software optimization, and high end games are no problem either, thanks to the mali 400mp GPU. So, all in all, it provides nearly as good an experience as the One S, at a price of 10k less.

What I'm concerned about is that the NovaThor's GPU is particularly weak.

SGS 2 has a Mali 400 MP4(4 cores). I think NovaThor U8500 has a MP2 at best, looking at the performance levels.

Ooh, more variants of the Mali-400mp! On a slightly off-topic note, which variant does the Micromax Funbook have?

Looking at the price point it should be MP1 or MP2. But I am not sure. If someone with Funbook runs GPU benchmark like Nenamark 2 then we can compare the scores with Sola, GSII etc.. (Since they have similar resolution - WVGA, FWVGA) and ascertain the no. of GPU cores in the funbook.
But then the clock speeds of the GPU also differ. So this is not a fool proof method.

I believe the AlWinner A10 has a Mali400 MP2 atleast. The gaming performance is higher as far as I remember seeing benchies on some site (I guess on this forum itself haha)

Yeah, Sola, Xperia U and P have the same internals, so sadly the same sad performance.

Gaming performance of the Xperia P is bad, as theverge's review stated, and rightly so, because it has a qHD display with the same weak GPU Mali 400 MP1.

Galaxy Ace 2 has the same chipset too, however it's resolution is marginally lower (800x480 v/s 854x480), but don't think it will make a significant difference in fps. Well, I wanted to see a comparison v/s Adreno 205 in the HTC One V, but sadly GSMArena don't have 'em yet!

Yikes. The HTC One V has a Nenamark2 score of 28.5 whereas the Neo V with the exact same SoC scores 13.8. Does the OS play a big role in the NenaMark scores?

Shouldn't affect much, since the Arc S also has an Adreno 205 and scores high running GB (the overclocked CPU should not account for much in Nenamark2)

Then why does the SE Neo V which also runs GB scores only half of what the Arc S and the HTC One V scores :S

It is very close to Xperia S and blows every single core phone, graphics performance ain't that bad either

What are you mulling at ? You better off with a pc if you want performance :p

The Mali 400 GPU is making people think it is similar to the one used in SGS II. But infact it is much less effective , the SGS II uses a multi core amped up version of Mali 400 , Sola falls much behind.
