Spice Mi 410 smartphone. 1Ghz snapdragon | 4.1" | Froyo | 5MP | 15K

Looks wise, i find the ZTE Skate better but there's no telling if that phone will ever see the light of day in India.

@techpal . Haven't tried HDMI out yet. Need some legwork to get the cable first. Tried playing a full HD video (got it from youtube). It stuttered and became unplayable after playing the first few seconds. But it's understandable given that even the 1.6 Ghz C2D lappy proccy/onboard GPU was throwing up audio/video sync issues.

The 300/400mb x264 rips play well. And looks much better on the smaller screen of the phone than the lappy which is not surprising.

@manish_bhaumik Tried some multi-touch testing apps and got 2 points. Maybe if i remove the screenguard, i can get better points. Don't really need muli-touch for other than pinch-zooming which works (not as accurate as the iphone3g though) so not an issue for me.

Because X5 is released by Huawei themselves whereas the X6 is a spice branded one. So different companies are marketing them.
 
Still, X6 should be costlier for Spice to buy, meaning we can expect X5's price to drop considerably. Good.

I feel X6 is a great phone, no idea about SAR though. Although, i wish I could have tweaked the design of the phone a bit.

Besides, ALL major websites (including Vodafone, Airtel etc) link Mumbai as a state, owing to it's large volume of customers, and different plans etc.

I thought this to be a better buy than the Nexus one since Dad wanted the larger screen. Besides it's got newer internals.
Dad doesn't care much about speed etc. THis is a FAR better buy for the price, IMHO
 
@st00pfie Great pics and I really like the angle..Looks like pics one would take for a Magazine :) Looks like a really smart device. Regarding the multi-touch, I know the phone has multi-touch but people reported that it was not working in the google maps (or navigator) to rotate(not zoom) the map. A few snaps taken from the phone and a sample video would be great. Pics which show how the flash is would be great too.

For the video try shooting some moving objects like some cars going by which your hands still. Alternatively shoot something still and gradually move the camera to capture a wide area. This will give an idea if the recording is jerky choppy. If it is choppy @ 720p, try recording similarly at perhaps a lower resolution. Looks like homework, no :D ? If you feel, I am asking too much, feel free to ignore this.

The device is black right (and not brown as per the Saholic page) ? And is the display 252k colors (as given on Saholic) or 16m colors (as the x6 is supposed to be)? Do you see any faults with the display in terms of color reproduction (not asking whether it can be compared to an Amoled or Retina display or Super LCD but as an individual device)

Really like how Spice has not spoiled the front with their Logo/Name.

The ideos x5 should have a better battery life because of the slightly higher rated battery and the smaller screen. As far as I know, the ideos x6 was supposed to have a 1500mah battery but I think spice skimped it down to give a better price. Specs wise the x5 is almost the same and am sure the 200Mhz less processor speed will not affect it too much. What the x5 DOES NOT have is the HDMI out. Looks are subjective and I somehow like both the Rounded x5 and the sharp x6.

The x5 should get a little more community support I feel and maybe an official Gingerbread too. Any other difference between the 2?
 
thanks for ur review and pics.. Its totally VFM phone... and now motorola is also coming with same phone.. :) but i dont expect same price from them..!
 
Although Motorola comes with same mobile, its CDMA Mobile..... Second, it has WVGA display, different from Spice MI 410 which has HVGA, so less access to android market.....

The Spice Mi 410 has a WVGA resolution display, not an HVGA one.
