IIRC those who even get higher crunching machines will be awarded the same points, the only thing is that they will be able to complete more tasks & in the end have more points than the lower machines. But for the tasks themselves they would get the same points irrespective whether the task took one machine 1 hr. or several hrs.
i dont know if u noticed this "Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy (Available on United Devices only)" so have to download both or just the boinc?
I think in the achievements section , we could have smaller milestones also recognised . like a week of running , or 10 k points and slowly move up . also have incentives for milestone achievements .. like i donno... maybe a different signature or avtar or message or have it displayed on the front page ...
this will get some more people responding . afaik , i see only the first 5-6 people crunching in terms of points generated . others have gone passive .

+1 on that . Another reason per-se could also be that things are not easily found either at the forums or somewhere else. That would need integration. If we are able to do these 2 things we might get more volunteers. I hope to atleast cover the linux part in this.

As far as achievements goes. The thing is 10k is soo small that any user with decent enough machine will pass it within few days. Even 25k or 50k is less but as its new team i have put it up. Will still consider smaller achievements. Will add top5 CPU times.
Its hard to keep track of a week as i will need to do it manually. WCG dont have effective stats log. There are few stats services out there. I am comparing few to decide one 1. As soon as I do that, I will add that and then we will have nice chart showing the crunchers and their stats.

^^ dont go by device installation no in the profiles. I have only 2 devices and it still shows 4 as i had a reinstall of client. Every time u format and reinstall it counts ur pc as another device.
AFAIK only Wolfff and I have multiple devices.
But yeah those with C2D will have some advantage.
Just dont give up. You never know when u do ur next upgrade which is kick@$$ rig

seems the entire country is sleeping....ppl out here generally have the outlook - "what's i got to gain from this? if my comp is idle, i'll switch it off".....which is why we are lacking in volunteers....
@sharekhan - i only have 1pc (C2D @1.86) dedicated to it...the no. of devices = 2 b'coz one is boinc and other is ud....both running on the same pcs....only Wolfff and Funky have multiple pcs....

Its not only that. I know people who leave their PCs on 24x7 just for downloading. Still wont join WCG
I mean come on. Its gonna be on anyway, keep it crunching while its downloading or at work. Ranks does not matter. Whatever small work u do counts.
I know I wont be able to crunch like this throughout. But when I can do it now. I am doing max I can.

Now apart from where we look for points , how do we get more people in the bandwagon . ?
I believe there is still a large untapped source .
on a sidenote , i dont see any mods being a part of it .They should be crunching and they should openly flaunt it , usually its that what is followed .
All we do is discuss in here , where we have a set number of visitors to these threads .
@Funky ... is it possible that you speak to the mods or admin to have a mass PM sent out for people to have a read the objective of WCG and the link of our thread put up , so we may get more people ..

As funky said dont go by device installations. I changed the client to Boinc and that automatically doubles the install count. Also the computer's at work are all shitty P4's... all 4 of them are only as good as a single OC'd C2D.
