Yes. I personally believe Lokpal system will bring the old bureaucracy or License Raj back to India. I do.
License raj was replaced by permits raj. It still takes forever to get projects started. Posco is a good example.

The thing that gets me is after 20+ years of liberalisation, its easier to start a business in west bank/gaza, lebanon & bosnia. Than it is to start a business in India (!)

Why is India coming in at 179 out of 189 in that parameter ?

Hmm..this thread's gone a little inactive - no opinion on the new 'letters' written by Mr Kejriwal?
My guess is most of us AAP cynics are in wait and watch mode. Currently AAP/Kejriwal are like Obama 2009 - people don't see the fallacies in their plan. Its like they can do no wrong. Its not until the plan and scenario unfold that it will become clearer whats wrong with the ideas presented by them.

Well, well - what have we here?

AAP to rule with Congress support - no opinion by all the armchair activists around? Strange! ;-)

no no no this is not a coalition government, LG just wanted damage control to prevent re-election & hence this all drama, this is a minority government which will have no congress members in it.
just when the no confidence motion will be put on floor, congis, 1 Independent, 1 JDU will be in favor & that's just it & after that no one can bring the no confidence motion for next six months & within this period AAP has to prove itself.
the biggest drama is that Delhi Nagar Nigam is with BJP & money control is from center i.e. congress, lets see how this goes ???

I'm a fan of AAP (but not a fanboy mind you) but I'm not sure how the AAP is going to do this.
And i dont get BJP's logic of criticizing the AAP. They had every chance of forming the govt. but they didn't. That's one. Second, the AAP cannot form the govt. without Congress's help, everyone knows that. BJP said AAP is afraid to form the govt. because it cannot fulfill the wishes of the people. But to form the govt. the AAP needs to get majority right? And to get the majority they need Congress's help. And they have decided to take it. Now BJP says AAP is a hypocrite. I mean wtf? O_o
This made me think that its actually the BJP which is afraid of fulfilling its promises.
Also two of the major promises of the AAP if elected to power were "50% cut in power tariff" and "X no. of litres of water everyday". Not sure how they are going to do that or if they are actually possible.
Bah I just want my taxes to serve its purpose, nothing else.
India is better off under a dictator. Screw everything else. :3

AAP is going to face the music Congress is going to play. Im sure it is not going to be cherished.
It won't as long as it stick to its promises. But money temptation is insane esp. when it amounts to thousands of crores, thats where my worries lie. Another problem would be communalism (ethnicity).
That i believe will be AAP's biggest personal hurdle. But for now AAP is the biggest and only hope that Delhi has.
btw if in case there was a re-election AAP would've won it in majority. Why? Because people voted for BJP because of the extreme corruption of Congress, people voted for Congress and BJP thinking AAP had no chance of winning and that their votes would go to waste and so out of options they voted for BJP. Now that AAP got the second highest seats after BJP that too by a very small margin of only 4 seats. Take 5 off Congress's 8 and lo 33!
Heck they can even win and would've won the required 36 votes to form the govt by default.
Now that the AAP is about to form the govt. all the parties must stop trying to wrestle each other for power, criticize each other and support and help the AAP in forming a good govt., better than the last. If they genuinely cares for the people of Delhi all of them esp. the big thress-BJP, Congress and AAP must respect and help the new govt. instead of yelling at each other on personal egos.
And as they say if you are not in the system you cannot change the system. if you want to change the system get into politics. its simple as that.

Experts say free water and 50% cut in electricity bills not possible. Sometimes I wonder whether these experts are the real problem ?????
