Are sure you are getting Factory Unlocked and not gevey or software unlocked ??

I would say stay away as Apple is releasing another update in next 1 or 2 weeks to address location gate issue .

Guys,

I have the Facotry unlocked Iphone 4 and was on 4.2.1, Jailbroken using greenpoison, so I dloaded tiny umbrella and saved my SHSH, then dloaded the 4.3.2 from itunes, connected my phone and tired updating, it did the whole process and at then end gave an unknown error, saying the software could not be updated, so I tried restoring, that dint work either, now my phone is stuck with the 'connect to itunes' pic.

Any pointers to how I can get it restored or working again?!

This is for the restore, the msg for the update was similar, just that the iphone could not be updated

dude I am not able to edit that file on Vista...

Edit: figured it out...nevermind.

did not work!...guess will have to try with another laptop?...if i uninstall itunes, I will lose all my phones backup, right?

thannks MS, it worked but in the same folder there was a file created by tiny umbrella too, so I tried the same method, and it worked!

Now, I am unable to JB my phone, trying with Redsnow, did you guys also do the restore of the 4.3.2 firmware? I did not follow this step, did all the remaining and first time i got an error with my phone stuck with the 'updating ramdisk' icon, then on I googled and ran the program with Win Xp SP2 compatibility mode, and since then after the phone reboots, the Redsnow 'stops working' according to Vista.

So did you guys follow the restore setup before actually running Redsnow?

Try running redsnow with administrative privileges and XP SP2 compatibility.Are you trying to restore from a backup file??.

I have used redsnow with no issues on a Vista and 7 machine as well.
 
Huge battery drain improvements after restore on iPhone 4.

I was on a AT&T locked iPhone 4 with Gevey Sim with Firmware 4.3.1 and BB 2.10.4. I had jailbroken and installed sbsettings and ultrasnow apart from loads of other jailbreak tweaks. iPhone was not even lasting a complete day with those settings. Restored it back on 4.3.1 with BB 2.10.4. Using it with a jailbreak as of now. And its been over 24 hours and more then 100 calls, atleast 30 mins of gaming and some surfing and my battery is a solid 35% on the second day morning. I am sure if i don't do anything else besides making calls on iPhone it will get me through the day.

What an insane battery drain with the sbsettings or ultrasnow. Will use it like it is for next couple of days. Then will jailbreak and use it without sbsettings and ultrasnow for 2 days and report back.
 
^^ just to give you a idea about battery backup my phone without jailbreak on 4.3.2 lasts about 2 days standby + 4-5 hours of usage(50% of wifi and 50% 3G and few calls).

EDIT:- its a factory unlocked phone

Is there any particular reason why you need ultrasn0w if your using the Gevey sim? Isnt the sim enough to use as an unlock?
 
Yup there is... Dev Team "may" come out with a NCK unlock or a Ultrasn0w unlock for the older basebands. Thats why I am preserving the basebands. Nothing else. Also anybody with a factory unlocked phone on 4.3.1 with sbsettings. How much battery time do you guys get.

My battery did improve after upgrading from 4.1 to 4.3.1. Improvement was a lot but downgraded to 4.2 as one important app i need was acting weird in 4.3.1.
