Downloaded iFile and it works fine. First mistakenly i downloaded some other app using Installeous whose name was iFile and it was the wrong one.

Btw say i download a mp3 file using safari and it gets stored in the above mentioned directory, so now is there any way i can include this mp3 song in my music player list. I know i can directly play the file from within iFile but can i include it in the list of music files under default music app.

Btw i had expected there to be a garmin iPhone app with offline navigation but am disappointed to know that there is an app called Garmin Streetpilot which requires constant data connection.
 
Use cydia tweak called meewseek for downloading songs off internet. The songs will be added directly to the iphone music app.There is a pro version in cydia u know how to get it :P

For GPS why dont u try Tom Tom , i had used the NZ version and it was pretty good for offline navigation , no data needed whatso ever except for traffic updates.
 
There used to be a cydia app called pwntunes. You can use that to update your iPhone music library. Also if not mentioned on this thread before iFunBox is a great free app to manage stuff on the iPhone filesystem if connected to a PC

I could never get its terminal to work. I sometimes need that to install cydia apps. Any idea how to do that?
 
Wierd. iFunBox uses SSH via USB tunneling. It would recognize my jailbroken iPhones and installing IPA's was as simple as pointing to which ones had to be installed. I guess once Cydia is installed you must ensure Open SSH is enabled. I don't have my iPhone anymore so I cannot check the steps I went through.
 
Which application is the best for downloading and uploading dropbox files and managing dropbox account ? I guess iPhone does not have an official dropbox app.

I installed tomtom and it seems really good. It also speaks street names which is very much advantageous. Tomorrow it will go through road test when i am supposed to travel around 30 miles one way and that too on an unknown road which i have never traveled :D

When you talk about the Apple iPhones such as iPhone 4 or for that matter Iphone 4S then it can be said that they have really good services. The picture quality, the videos maybe the streaming ones are really nice. They do provide nice services for 3G enabled ones. They are very good at it. Definitely when you need some smart services or looking for enjoying a video with high definition and clarity and you do not like to be interrupted then these phones are a good choice. The thing to be noted here is that the Nokia models such as N8 or Lumia 800 are also fabulous when the 3G services are concerned. They too have brilliant services and provide you with uninterrupted video enjoying and all other features that are enabled or supported by the 3G ones. It can be easily said that the Nokia smart phones are as good as or better than the Apple ones in every aspect of 3G enabled services. There are a number of factors that are better in the N8 or Lumia 800 as far as 3G is related and that keeps them way above their Apple compatriot.

Anyways, we can talk about 3G in this country when the carriers improve their service.
 
Is it that some cydia apps / tweaks work only after restarting the iPhone (not just re-springing)??

Btw which is the best app / cydia app/tweak that i can use to tether (over wifi) the EDGE connection to my android phone ? This is just in case i may require internet on my android on the go and only source would be the internet available on iPhone (through EDGE).

Yes. There are some which require a restart. Sucks to be on iOS 5 at that point.

And for the second point, I think you have an iPhone 4. It natively allows you to create a wifi hotspot so you can use your Edge/3G connection for that.

Me too waiting for the Untethered JB on iOS 5. I make it a point not to let the iPhone run low on battery and have told my wife to keep a tab of battery status.

Btw there was a video online couple of days back which said that the Untethered JB for iOS5 was ready. Pod2g or some user uploaded the video.
 
The unthethered JB by pod2g is already out and works great. now it works on all apple devices having A4 processor which means all devices except iPad 2 and iPhone 4S

I just read an article on modmyi and it no where mentions that it is available for download or anything.

Also i have a query assuming the JB is available / will be available soon.

Can we install it over the current Redsn0w jailbreak (iPhone 4) ?? Also what about unlocking the phone ? Do i have to run Ultrasn0w again to unlock my phone ?
 
It isn't out officially, just been demonstrated. Should be out in a couple of weeks. Even I am waiting for it, although my iPad iOS 5.0 tethered JB has not given me a single crash or issue since the JB two months ago.
