Cheaper is a wrong word to say, it's more like half price especially in L1 stores. I was comparing US prices the other day and some of them ie. high end liquor were cheaper here then in US.

Quality is totally different matter depending on city/country of production.
High end alcohol abroad can be far superior.
Even duty free alcohol has variations depending on country.

Would like give an example regarding this

Stolichyna which is sold worldwide is made in Latvia while the one sold in Russia is made there

Also Stoli > Grey Goose > Absolut > all the other generic shit

Localisation case is different, but if same scotch whiskey is made in Scotland and exported to 10 different countries then quality issue should not be there whether it's US or India.

How can one be superior or inferior to other..
 
Reviving this after almost 2 years, here is my small but growing collection :-
Paul John Brilliance is my favourite whiskey. I don't like Scotch as my Indian tongue finds them bland water. But Paul John is the real deal.

Paul John is good except there is that initial metallic taste that I don't like, so far my favourite is Green Label.
