rockfella what about wrist pain i get it (mild one) when i do push ups and do dumbbells for biceps is it something i should be worried about. what i think is that its due to the bike driving i am doing (more than 50kms/day)
I suspect it's due to your form of handling weights while doing those exercises.Even motorcycling riding could add to the pain if the accelerator is hard:) Small things do matter.
If you have started working out just now and if it is due to push ups.it will vanish. If you are doing bicep curls, better grip should help. or may be the weights are more than what you can handle and the loose grip puts the weight down your palm.

Re: The Fitness Thread !

True sir, whatever the reason of the pain is, once his arms/forearms get stronger he will feel no pain!

dude.. go see an ortho asap.If it is paining bad. see a doc.dont make assumptions and decide that the pain might subside in a week or so.Only when you are sure, resume your workouts.else the pain is only going to be worse.

Laziness to see a doc/general denial/ stupid assumptions ...all lead to aggravation of the injury.

Better be sure.Did you first visit the physio or did you visit a general doc who advised you to go to the physio?

Doc first he guided me to physio.

Re: The Fitness Thread !

Thinking of getting back in shape and trying to bulk up some muscles and cardio but just too lazy to start.. Any ideas?

yup started working out after a forced break of 3 months :( weights are light atm like in the range of 4-6 kgs

Re: The Fitness Thread !

I too had a knee injury in April this year. But not sure it was because of squats (used to 75 kgs + bar), BP - 40 Kgs + bar, OP 30 +). I had taken a 2 week break from workout and one fine day felt a sudden pain in the right knee. Have stopped working out completely since then. Its better now hoping to start workout again from october 10. I was completely demotivated. have to start all over again. Rockfella, looking at your post earlier about how u started working out again has inspired me even more. Hopefully will be able to get back to my earlier fitness levels.

Re: The Fitness Thread !

^ Glad i could inspire you. Today i used the same weight 60 kg squats, 52.5 kgs bench press but reduced rest time from 4/5 minutes to 2/3 minutes. Have to get it down to a minute or 90 secs with good form on all sets then will increase weight. Now i will have to join a gym lol, my bar cant hold hold more than 90 kgs weight! My DL already 85 kgs.
This time make sure u read aout squatting. Mark Rippetoe can give u THE best info about how to squat/press/bench press/dead lift/power clean.

I have stopped smoking too. Once i reach 100 kg squat there will be stopping lol!

Re: The Fitness Thread !

^ nice that you have stopped smoking i am still trying (20 sticks/day takes all my stamina away :( )

now i have decided to buy some equipment as the rack you mentioned is not available here locally and is kinda expansive to ship :(

help me choose amongst these tow bench press

benchpress 1

benchpress 2

and other equipment is a preacher and a bench

one more thing i would be reducing the weights (1kg 2kg and 3 kgs) from the weight bundled with the benches as i already have them

Re: The Fitness Thread !
