The Fitness Thread !

Re: The Fitness Thread !

Godspeed

Some gyms have a policy where it is mandatory to use the personal trainer services till untill you are proficient with all the equipment. The ones that like could sue the customers for getting injured.

Re: The Fitness Thread !

I too sprained my neck (actually collar muscle) doing inclined bench press. Nothing while doing the exercise but when after finishing my exercises
While getting up i came with the DB which caused sprain. This happened on saturday by today All's well. :P

Re: The Fitness Thread !

Keep on jogging till your shoulder heals man! Or u'll have to start from scatch.
See if you can get Glucosamine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia tabs. Have it and apply hot water bottle to your shoulder on your own. Start from today ASAP. Injury will heal much faster, mine took 8-10 months to heal man, yours sounds worse! Did you warm-up properly?

Last workout i took 5 mins rest between sets of squats and OHP. This time i will use same weight and reduce rest period to 3 minutes.

Re: The Fitness Thread !

I did warm up as usual re ,not sure why this happened .I doubt i can jog man coz i just cant move my shoulder any slight movement also makes it worse.I am worried about starting from scratch :(

I can grab those tablets from pharmacy tomorrow.Hope they are not bad as the previous one i got.

Re: The Fitness Thread !

Re: The Fitness Thread !

I can't guide your arms bench pressing VIA pms. He should tell you that while you do it. WTF!!!

Re: The Fitness Thread !

^^ wat does ur above post mean "leve" i dint get it:

@ metalspree: its really bad news , hope u recover soon , something happened with me also last yr when i started out exercisig , i squatted without any warmup and after3 squats my right knee started aching , a kind of wierd pain which came up only while i tried to sit or go downstairs ,

walking running was fine , i cudnt squat for next 6 months gave it complete rest ,no exercise , no running on treadmill evn though i cud run , and now i am back to squatting after more than 6 months ,

see these injuries sometime takes long time to heal and make sure to give it a good time to recover before u start doing it again , beacuse if u try to rush though u might injure urself more again

so its better to start from scratch , then trying to push urself through injury , shoulder joint is the weakest joint i the body , it dislocates very easily and otherwise also its very much prone to injuries due to its anatomical structure

Re: The Fitness Thread !

Post editing done. Thanks for this info. As u know i also injured my right shoulder swimming last year in july. Moreover it took like an year for me to recover. I went to a well known ortho who told me it will take 6-7 month easily to heal. I asked how Sachin Tendulkar started playing cricekt after six months, he corrected me saying it took an year for him, despite he having top notch doctors. Maybe he wanted to convince me to rest or something but thats how he put it to me. Despite the rest i could barely do a single push-up or bench any weight at all, simply waited for the pain to subside, givig some heat treatment, then a doc friend of mine suggested taking a 10 day dose of ultranac-MR (Muscle relaxtant) and combine it with heat therapy. The medicine was so effective i thought it was a steroid, though i took the medicine much after the injury had happened so majority of healing was done simply resting. Whatever it was it worked and now i am benching 50+ kgs again. Can't wait to push 80+ kgs and break my previous PR!

Let me tell you this, I have learnt a hard way how an injury can stop your training/demotivate you and crush your enthusiasm for weeks/months or an year or two. You loose whatever progress you make/gain fat/start from scratch again + IT SUCKS!

Metal see a doc ASAP. PT is not the first thing that should be done. Heat + muscle relaxtants is better, take a second opinion. PT is business for people who do it as they charge $$ per session rofl!!

rockfella what about wrist pain i get it (mild one) when i do push ups and do dumbbells for biceps is it something i should be worried about. what i think is that its due to the bike driving i am doing (more than 50kms/day)

Re: The Fitness Thread !

Ignore the pain, it should vanish within days.

I mean "Don't do weight training exercises that specifically involve your back in the first hour when you get up in the morning"

This is grease for the bones lol no side effects! Do check with your doctor though. Some people don't really feel good eating fat burning pills hence the previous one left u panting. Bro remember it was your idea taking those pills as u wanted quick results, i gave u a "go ahead" thinking maybe u will start training regularly while taking those pills :) Good u got rid of them. Hopefully u will be able to jog after few weeks.

I tried man but its in bad shape ,its swollen and its kinds of turned black also .Fcuk it pains badly .
dude.. go see an ortho asap.If it is paining bad. see a doc.dont make assumptions and decide that the pain might subside in a week or so.Only when you are sure, resume your workouts.else the pain is only going to be worse.
Laziness to see a doc/general denial/ stupid assumptions ...all lead to aggravation of the injury.
Better be sure.Did you first visit the physio or did you visit a general doc who advised you to go to the physio?
