The Fitness Thread !

Re: The Fitness Thread !

Buy a full-fledge power-rack with olympic grade 50mm holes and a 20 kg 7 foot barbell. Nelco is a good brand.
Buy the following plates:
1.25 x 2
2.5 x 2.
5 x 2.
7.5 x 2.
10 x 2.
20 x 4.
All weights in KGs and u have the best gym in your city ready in your house. Just need a treadmill more. You'll be all set.

lol i am i Hubli (google it :P) can buy it and get it shipped from bangalore though

Re: The Fitness Thread !

Have you got them weighed? Just make sure you don't have a 19.5 kg and 21.5 kg pair stated as 20 kgs before you break your back. The NELCO company i am talking about is olympic grade, the 20kg rod only costs Rs. 6000 i guess but never bends/rusts. Investing in a good bar is advisable. The rotating weight plates really helps. You will understand this once you start pushing 60+ kgs or more. No real need of 7.5 kg plates, just that sometimes it gets frustrating putting plates while moving on to the next exercise.

Buy a rock-solid power-rack whenever you buy, with a chin-up bar.

One can say exercise is like starting the car, diet is like accelerating the body throughout FTW!

Dont stop working out till you get better equipment as planned for your fitness goal. You can do a lot with just 10kg DB.Turkish get-ups, dumbell swings, snatches etc.Excellent body conditioning exercises.

How much did it cost you totally? I would be investing in this in the future, say 6-8 months from now.

Re: The Fitness Thread !

my log after end of 4th week.....barbell weight is considered 40lbs

SQUAT 5x5 150lbs
Bench Press 5x5 90lbs

Overhead press 5x5 90lbs

Deadlift 1x5 150lbs

Re: The Fitness Thread !

Squat and DL same?
My stats after two months:
Squat: 60 kgs.
OHP: 40.
DL: 85 kgs.
BP: 52.5.
These look more balanced! Since u squat well you DL should be much higher than your squat. :)

from now on there will be 5lbs increment in squat n OHP....10lbs in others

i started deadlift with 90lbs....10lbs increment in each workout...so it comes around 150lbs in one month.....its just coincident tht squat n dl are same....ya i can lift more :)

Re: The Fitness Thread !

Keep all increments in 2.5 kgs total. Best in the long run. Your body will tell you when you will be able to increase or not.
