it just might be cheaper to replace the lcd..
Try the popular cell phone repair shops in your area..
Samsung service centre might charge you a premium for the lcd !

P.S: i spent about 2.2k :ashamed: replacing the lcd on my 6288! but that was at NOKIA CARE:mad: and the phone had a local(middle east!) warranty...

Well,when i compiled the 5k list ,i had set a limit of 6k!

Anyways,since your main focus is on texting & talktime...

I'd suggest the fllg:

If your not worried about the looks:

Nokia 3110C or Samsung J210

Something better:

Samsung E251 , Nokia 3500C or SE Z555

Nokia 6300 @ 6.7k is also worth considering !

I am looking for a very basic handset under 2.5k

It should be elegant, have fm, no camera, long battery life.

Nokia preferred.

My choice as of now is Nokia 1650. Any views about this one or other suggestions are welcome.

The only other option would be the nokia 2626 but the 1650 has a much better battery life & mp3 grade ringtones !

So go ahead with the Nokia 1650 @ 1.6K !

Anyways,You'd get about 7k+.3k(mem card) for the N95,in retail stores..

But then selling it online or to your friend can get you a better price,not by a huge margin though !
I'd say a max of 10k,if you were providing the phone in 'pristine condition'( i doubt that),with original packaging,accessories and warranty..

If your pleased with the same old Moto UI(with a few tweaks included),this phone is DEFINITELY recommended on all counts for the standard stuff it offers!

dont u think ur underrating it too much......4 months old N95 for 7k with remaning warranty and 2gb mem card...please let me know where can I buy it ? and im not selling the phone , im looking to buy the same...

dude,you ought to visit a few shops and ask them how much a n95 would go for? they'd quote around 7k ! but then these ppl don't care about warranty as such...

2gb card ,second hand = about 300 bucks!

btw,5-6 became 4months?

Only Small electronic stores sell second hand phones and you never can tell how much they'll charge you..it might fluctuate from shop to shop ! Moreover,they DON'T OFFER ANY BILL OR WARRANTY !

So I'd recommend buying it from your friends...

I'd recommend the Samsung J700 !
Retails at 5.6k...

Other options:
M620 ~ 4.7K
J210 ~ 4.7K
E251 ~ 4.5K
J150 ~ 4.4K
