Joined work where you arent allowed to have a mobile phone cam. Would like a suggestion of any half-decent phones without a cam in any budget above 3k.

nope ..n85 is super fantastic handset. Its just that nokia spoiled its build quality. Its much much better than n79.. and yes not every n85 is badly built ..mine is pretty fine. Though its lying in service station for gps issue..

I had posted my query in this thread also http://www.techenclave.com/mobile-phones/suggestions-required-best-looking-phone-under-130602.html but didn't get enoguh responses so i thought might as well try it here also, as experts like 'thetoxicmind' might be able to help me out.

The question might appear to silly/objetive at first but please help me out guys. I am looking for the best looking phone(with reasonable feature set, doesn't have to be the best in terms of features). It a for a female friend of mine, so plz only suggest good looking phones(no candy bar bricks).

BUDGET:14000 - 15000 MAX

Hi!

I need a mobile phone for my sister.

Should be trendy and not very heavy..preferably Sony Ericsson or Nokia

No sliders or clamshell

3.2 megapixel min camera is must with xenon flash (if possible)

Decent enough music player

Warranty ...does any compamy provide 2 or more year warranrty for cellphone ? if yes, that is plus

she does ample smses ...so should have good keys

NOT at all touchscreen ...she will break that off in 1 month :p

Wifi....if available....big plus
Budget 12-14 K [not single above 14k]

Need a GSM bar phone (prefer Nokia because of the clean UI) having internet capabilities (maps would be a bonus but not required, similarly QWERTY keyboard not required unless its a better phone overall). Budget around 10-12K - don't want to extend the budget. Camera/Music not a deciding factor at all.

And if you don't require a QWERTY keypad,there's the Nokia E51 (11.1K*)...

1. Slick design
2. Moderately good Battery backup
3. At least VGA camera,
4. 2 GB MicroSD support
5. Bluetooth + USB support
6. FM with good sound quality
7. MP3 playback
8. Nokia most preferable, samsung next (no LG or Motorola)

what abt Nokia 3110C ? please suggest if any better...

budget around 4-4.5K

Approximate time of launch and cost of Nokia E55? It looks quite superb in it's functionality.

The E55 will not launch in Q2 or maybe even Q3 09.
I think it will exceed your budget. It is the first Nokia phone with that kind of keypad. Nokia will charge a premium for it initially and then after some time its price will decrease to a reasonable level.

^ Err...that part is meant to read not quoted!
You either post relevant queries here or PM irrelevant ones.
And a sense of urgency can't be helped as one can only answer your query when possible.

Anyways,
Between the two, the N82 is definitely a better option spec-wise !
And NO,it's not possible to upgrade N82 to FP2.
N82(FP1) is based on the Symbian OS 9.2 whereas FP2 is based on Symbian OS 9.3 being a newer OS altogether.

The E55 will begin shipping in the second quarter of 2009 with an estimated retail price of €265/US$359 before taxes and subsidies.

But like hotshot05 mentioned,It make take a while for it to settle down at the right price!
