Dear all,

I wish to buy a phone for my mom. She basically wants a stylish Red Slider. The other features such as radio, music player, camera are also desired but need not be the best in class/budget.

Initially, I'd set a budget of around 5k but found no phone matched the requirements. So I've now increased it to 8-10k.

So far the phones I've come across are the LG KF510 & the SE W580i [which doesn't have a flash??!!]

Could you'll suggest some more alternatives along with any glaring pros/cons? The cheaper the better!

If my choice is limited to the above two only, which would you recommend?

When you say stylish Red Slider, the SE W910 (11.8K*) comes to mind !!!

And the other options are indeed the SE W580 (10.4K*) & LG KF510 (8.8K*)...

SE W580:

+ Walkman Player

+ Stereo FM radio

+ Std. SE UI

- Avg. 2MP Cam

- Less Stylish

- Memory Stick Micro (M2) is expensive comparatively

LG KF510:

+ More Sytlish

+ 3.2MP/AF/Flash/IS Cam

+ 2.2 inch Display

+ microSD

- Poor File Management

The more stylish option is obviously the KF510 !!!

End of Dual-Sim Mobile Phones?

More than two weeks after a petition was filed by Madurai resident Somasundaram Ramkumar, the Madras High Court has directed mobile manufacturers to restrain from manufacturing and selling dual sim phones in India.

Apparently, Ramkumar claims to hold Indian patent (No.214388) for plurality of SIM cards in a single mobile handset (in simpler terms, dual SIM phones) and claims the rights over the technology used to manufacture such phones.

The High Court has sought the implementation of the Intellectual Property Rights (Imported Goods) Enforcement Rules 2007 Act. This Act enables customs officials to seize imported goods that infringe patents.

The directive by the High Court has hit the sales of devices from manufacturers like Samsung, LG, MIRC Electronics and Spice Mobile who have quite a few number of dual SIM models on sale.

budget - 10k( 11k max )

wud like to have a slider but not top priority

wats diff b/w se k810i & se c510

k810i - 3.2 wid xenon flash sels for 10.2k

c510 - 3.2 wid led but 11k (new) .. does it have a better lens??

any other suggestions are welcome

how is cam on nokia 5610xm??

The Nokia 5610 XM's camera doesn't compare well with the K810's but in all other respects the 5610(afterall a Nokia/music phone) is better...

So if the camera is top-most priority,the K810 is what you should get !

Between the K810 and C510..

The latter has new camera features, newer OS, better keypad and an overall appealing design !

So your choice should be between the SE K810 and the SE C510...

My friend is planning to buy one. What will be the current price range. On ebay its 9.8k shipped. How does it compare with other touch screen phones.

Also does it come bundled with that cool bluetooth headset. If yes than at what price?

The Moto Rokr E6 retails for 9.3K !

The Bundle:



^ As you can see, the Bluetooth headset is included in the package

Cons:

Only 8MB Built-In memory

An average camera

Slightly bulky

No widescreen mode

Other than that, A fun device to use !

Asked him to buy as he was getting a very good deal on this. The dealer in his hometown had got one piece lying with him unsold for quite some time.

I have asked him to check the bluetooth headset before buying it.
