I'm planning to buy a new phone which will replace my N95.

Thinking of going the blackberry or HTC way. Have a budget of around 20k. Browsing experience, wifi, GPS and battery life is the priority. Which phone do you guys recommend?

And, for how much can I expect to sell my 1+ year old N95 (normal version - decent condition - with the scratches on the back and on the keypad) for?

Are you keen on switching to a PDA??

If not, The SE W995 (20.6K*) is your best option !

Followed by the Samsung S8003 Jet (18.6K*).

But if you are:

Asus P750 ~ 20.1K* (- Bulky,Avg. Cam, Limited RAM, Min. apps, No FM)

HTC Diamond ~ 21.3K* (- Avg Bttry Life, No Mem. card slot, Build)

Blackberry 8900 ~ 22.4K* (- BIS account, Avg. Cam, No FM, No 3G)

Hope this helps.

Ones I mentioned in my previous post are the best options under 8K.
Let me know if you have specific requirements and can stretch your budget.

No specific requirements as such but I would like a phone which will last me 2 years minimum and has decent camer and music. I want a good looking and easy to cary phone as well...

Hi Toxic!!!

My aunt is looking to buy a phone ; she's an architect, her requirements are Talktime and contact list, budget 15k max, she preferably wants a touch screen, and i prefer a nokia, coz easy to syncronise the contacts. She is currently using the Palm treo 650; she bought a Asus P320...but has stopped using it because of its sluggishness and pathetic battery life.

I suggested her the Nokia 5800 Xm and E63 (non touch screen), hence final requirements would be-

Budget-15k max

Great talk time

Preferably Touch screen

Preferably Gud cam

Preferably Nokia

other features...not that important

thanx in advance!!!

Under 8K :

Music :

1. Samsung M3510 Beat ~ 7.3K*

2. SE W395 ~ 7.1K*

3. Moto EM30 ~ 6.4K*

Jack of all trades :

1. SE G502 ~ 6.9K*

2. Samsung L700 ~ 6.7K*

Value for money :

Nokia 6303 Classic ~ 6.5K*

^ You still have to choose from this list.

But going by your requirements, your choice should ideally be between the SE G502 and Nokia 6303 Classic.

A dumb question - do I need to take the blackberry plan, if I buy a blackberry phone? Or, can I use normal GPRS/EDGE to browse/check email?

^ That's the reason I mentioned "BIS Account".
BIS = Blackberry Internet Service Account is a must for email.

A dedicated music player always has a certain edge in SQ atleast in the price range you have mentioned.
That said, music phones under 6K do offer acceptable performance.

Other options for under 6K:

SE W205 ~ 4.8K*
Nokia 5130 XM ~ 5.1K*
LG GM200 ~ 5.7K*

The Nokia 5800 XM's audio quality is very good, add to that the 3.5mm audio jack and you've got a great music phone !

And what about the samsung fones that I mentioned? And the prices that they are available in.
Also when you say " atleast in the price range you have mentioned" I hope you mean 2 to 3 k and not 6k for just a mp3 player.
6k was for a phone + mp3 player.

So you are saying that the Nokia 6303 is worth it? Cool.

What are the disadvantages of the Nokia 6700?

Well, if your keen on features, get the Nokia 6303 Classic else the SE G502 should do!

Err...The Nokia 6700C is beyond your budget.
Anyway, here goes :

- Same old S40 OS
- No Wi-Fi
- No Office document viewer
- No 3.5mm audio jack
- No video calling

Indeed.
The Samsung F270 has an average battery life for a music phone and the Samsung i450's audio quality isn't all that great.
You could confirm the latter half in person.

If your going to listen to music on the loudspeaker, get the LG GM200 else the Nokia 5130 XM should do.
