It should be. This is what the people who have faced this issue have recommended doing, prior to installing any patch.

Removed the Troll.dzip file, still the same error. The GoG.com DRM-free download is my last hope.

Thankfully Alan Wake should be here tomorrow.

Lol just start the game up, play for 5 mins and you are greeted by boobies

What about your EE copy that you ordered from Flipkart? When's that due for arrival?

Anyway, I just completed Chapter 2 in very long session. Now I can safely vouch for Ioverth's play-though being way more satisfactory than Roche's. In fact, I think I appreciate it more, since I already know Henselt's side of the story and made him pay for it in this path. Saskia's speech was so adrenaline pumping. I can't believe the changes of the events that occur are so different in both the paths. Just wish chapter 3 would have been as long as Chapter 2. It saddens me that the game is almost nearing it's end.

Hoping you have save file before big decision I wanted to play iroveth path too.

Man, I'd kill for that Collector's/Dark Edition artbook, it's one of the most gorgeous I've seen.
If you have the physical copy of The Witcher 2, you can download the PDF of the artbook from GoG.com.

I am glad you are enjoying Iorveth's path. I like the animated summary too, especially Geralt saying --
"...one thing is clear, elves are the best archers in the world... [arrows flying kchhh..kchhh and Kaedweni ranks falter]", Iorveth's Scoia'tael Brigade have a far more powerful feeling of camaraderie in the story arc.
You also come to know, how Iorveth gets the scar and how intense his hatred became for humans from then on. Did you come to know the 'Dragon'-slayers secret?
I am sad that I could not be of much help in your play-through. [/img]

I love those animated cut-scenes. They have a great sense of art-work. My favourite memory is of the Isle of Avallach. That memory reminds me of Spartacus: Blood and Sand's early episodes where Sura is taken from Spartacus by the Roman guards.

But yes, Ioverth's play-through does have a lot of heart, while Roche's was politically inclined.

You also come to know, how Iorveth gets the scar and how intense his hatred became for humans from then on. Did you come to know the 'Dragon'-slayers secret?

I'm not sure if I missed the Ioverth's scar part, but I have reached chapter 3, so should I have seen/heard of it by now?

I know Saskia's secret and I'm shocked. But now my decision in the end of the Dragon fight would be quite easy. But how does she even turn into a Dragon? Did she inherit it from someone? She speaks about her father, while explaining her story to Geralt, but not about how she is turned into a Dragon

Also,

How did Philippa get the Rose of Remembrance? She says she found it amongst Cynthia's belongings. Now how did Cynthia get a hold of it?

I am sad that I could not be of much help in your play-through.

What are you talking about? Was it your ghost who answered my queries?

]True, but both have their merits, I do understand why Roche behaves so. He is a patriot and will not mind dying in the service of Country and King [in that order]. He is also fiercely loyal and ruthless in 'tackling obstacles' in his path.
Iorveth's case a more base one, he is fighting for him being betrayed by both sides. Worst of all he lost his vaunted 'Elven beauty'. Betrayed by both sides [Nilfgaard as well as the Northern Kingdoms] he set out to do what he was best at -- A commando, a champion for his downtrodden brethren and a beacon of hope to those who believe that the Elves may yet carve out a space for themselves in this new world order.
I am not sure whether this flashback sequence has ensued OR not, but there is a sequence in which Geralt is facing a Manticore whilst heading south. He is crossing a ravine [the camera pans down and shows a skull impaled in the ground] and reminisces about the Scoia'tael Brigades being handed over by the Nilfgaardians to the Northern monarchs who order their summary execution, in light of their disruptive guerilla raids in the war.
I think the Elves somehow remind me of the Polish resistance fighters in and after WW II. They were crushed by the Germans in some of the most brutal crackdowns in history, not withstanding that the Germans felt the Poles were Jews and hence the untermensch -- lowest of the low in their new world order. Then when they were liberated by the Soviets in the Spring of 1945 the freedom fighters, partisans who fought the Germans were tried as traitors and had to again fight against the Russians [with no western country to aid them], by 1965 most of their resistance leaders had been captured, arrested, killed or executed.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!... there are atleast ~3 ways you can end end the stand-off, tell me just before you start the encounter, please note that you may have to take the hypocritical Philippa's help.
Also in the books written by Andrzej Saplowski, Geralt had met with Saskia's father who was a Golden Dragon they can assume the shape of men and are quiet adept at other skills which demand a higher intellect.
From that particular story arc the following characters came in to The Witcher 2 --
Boholt, Kennet and their mercenary group.
Saskia [the dragon child raised by a dragon Geralt was hunting alongside Yennefer]
How did Philippa get the Rose of Remembrance?
You do know that Cynthia is a 'ploughing' Nilfgaardian spy don't you? She kidnapped Triss when she appeared near Vergen, transfigured her into a doll and tried to send her to the Nilfgaardian enclave in the Kaedweni camp [we interceded the dead courier], she got the Rose of Remeberance which we gave Triss at the baths.
May your sword stay sharp, Witcher!!

Eh, I already have that from buying the game on GoG at release, but there's something a lot more appealing about owning an exquisitly made harcover book. Seriously, man, look at one of those unboxing vids on youtube, it's really beautiful. I have even thought of importing it from Europe/US but $90 is a bit too much to ask.

Finally, after playing this game close to a month now, completed both the play-through. As expected, this truly managed to complete my experience of The Witcher 2. It was indeed a wise decision to provide both sides with their own unique storylines. I'll still hold a lot of memorable moments in Iorveth's play-through and consider it to be the most satisfying path. I'm over-whelmed and sort of disappointed that we have to wait for Witcher 3. This is the same wait I built up for Mass Effect 3. Just hope CDPR manages to pull off yet another success. Heck, I'm so tempted to play the original Witcher right now, but after playing this game, the combat system just won't go down well for me.

ALPHA, sorry I couldn't respond to your explanations earlier, as I was busy with the game this whole afternoon. Everything you said, pretty much clears up what I needed to know. You've been a great help throughout this journey and it's good to have a person who shares the same thoughts on the game, being up for a discussion. I'd probably raise a bottle of Vodka, like Letho does, but I'm a teetotaler, so I'll just perform a virtual toast. Cheers!

A word to the people planning to play this game; please take it slow, explore and savor it. Above all, please play it twice to get the maximum benefit of the storyline it has to offer.

This is Agent Hunt signing off.

Not an issue Agent Sire, I am happy you played both the story arcs and enjoyed the game as a product, a story and most important as an experience.

So let me raise a toast for the days yet to come, games yet to be released and moments yet to be relived and realized. Cheers!!

May your sword stay sharp, Witcher!!

About time. Alpha, I think you're copy should now be on the way, right?

Also, I advice people to stay off this thread. Since the spoiler tags aren't working, all my conversation posts are now in the open.

But I cancelled my order, because I registered myself for the free redeemable copy of my disc game from GoG.com. I am hoping that once I get internet up and running [hopefully by next week], I would download this edition and try to run it.

Apart from this I have a small insurance in the form of @Altair who downloaded the *AHEM* game and I will get in touch on this weekend to get the game. Want to replay and review this title.

Thanks for all the help, Secret_Agent man I will see you soon in Dark Soul's [hoping they release it in India]. Cheerio!!
