You can't uninstall the Windows Developer Preview. To reinstall your previous operating system, you must have restore or installation media.

^^ Oh, well then.. at least I will check it out on my netbook.

Downloading it will take some time though. Any idea when the

developer preview will expire?

Guys am confused. Is this a proper BETA, i.e. running version of Win 8, or just some development environment.

Its akin to a RC... since W8 is already past the beta stages...

Nice thanks.

Was wondering, what about drivers and all. For sure vendors have not updated for this new release. Will it just understand Win7 drivers, example LAN/VGA/various USB devices.

Yes, since it has been built over Win7. Also is backward compatible, so what works there, should work here.

No, it is not. This is a pre-beta build. (I think they are calling it an M3 exit build, what ever that means.)

This Build --> Beta --> RC --> RTM --> General Availability is the progression.

AMD graphics drivers supports wddm 1.2 for radeon 5xxx+ so no worries for graphics :) and support wddm 1.1 for old gen cards..

Yeah, forgot about that! Was thinking the Milestone builds were beta's, guess we could have a beta version next. Lets see.

Possible Windows 8 timeline:

Milestone Build's 1,2 & 3 --> Developer Preview --> Beta --> RC --> RTM --> Service Pack 1? :eek:hyeah:
