I'm using the xperia now, but on the blade it worked fine on earphones, BT and speaker.

Though I need some help and have newbie querries:

Firstly, I haven't installed anything except Angry Bird Space free version and moved it to SD card and still the internal memory available is 56.32mb! Will it be sufficient for installing cyanogenmod 7.x? Also which is the best way to root the phone? Read many forums and z4root seems to be the best option available.

Secondly, is there any way to move my messages from Blackberry to Dell xcd35?

Some how managed to transfers messages using http://hope.mx/backup-sms-from-blackberry and SMS backup and restore app from Playstore. IT toook around 40mins to extract 6.8k messages to phone and make the conversation tree. Now the best part is when I tried opening messages phone hangs

SO deleted all the messages, which took like an era too

Can anyone gimme link to tutorial where I can read and learn everything about modding? Currently trying xda developers. Anything more lucid than these forums then please gimme links

For a starter I am just rooting and installing Cyanogenmod7.1
 
+1 to modaco for the blade. They have an incredible amount of content, and most of it easy to follow, if you take your time reading. I would suggest spending a week learning about stuff if this is your first android and then moving on to actually doing stuff on your phone. You can right away try rooting and the setInstallLocation trick though.

xda is awesome for everything else...
 
Hmm... have been reading modaco for awhile. Will read and then do stuff.

Right now I have one doubt, whether to opt for temporary or permanent root while rooting using z4root. And why?
 
And idea where to get a new scratch guard for the XCD 35? I ordered one from the amzer india website earlier. They sent me some chinese crap. It came off after 4 months of usage

Get the local 30 Rs rinco ones

Nokia n8 ones fit perfectly after cutting the top portion off

I'm using it currently

No scratches at all almost four months now

Yes been waiting for the AOKP build and the new ColdfusionX with ICS libs. Should be interesting.

Does Titanium Backup work on these new ICS/ColdFusion builds? The last one I tried was in early March and apps like Titanium Backup, Whatsapp and Link2SD did not work.

What about Bluetooth? Does file transfer work?

TB and link2sd works dunno about whatsapp

Bluetooth file transfer works ...tethering doesnt work i guess
 
Guys any local direct contact for a battery in mumbai/navi mumbai? Need to buy a battery urgently.

I took Titanium Backup before wiping out and installing Cyanogenmod
  1. When I run Titanium backup to restore, the number of backup for restore (system + missing app with data) is 72 whereas I created a backup of 94. What about the rest?
  2. Also when I try to install app from Play store it is stuck at downloading bar and the download just doesn't start

Nvm, found an idea (blade) service center in sector 1, vashi. They supposedly do service for all blades whether idea or dell. Battery cost 550 with a 3-month warranty.

Okay I found the culprit. The Wi-Fi doesn't run properly. After turning on my wifi, when I enter the wifi settings to conenct to my home wifi network it crashes and turns off the wifi. HELP!!
