So I installed CM7 Green and tried to format the SD card for S2E usage but haven't had any luck so far. Anyone here successfully formatted their card for S2E use?

You need to partition your SD card before using A2SD or S2E, use ROM manager to partition SD card and partitioning card will wipe all data on card. So backup all data on SD before partitioning.

Tried partitioning using Clockwork - Error

Used Partition Wizard but it doesn't recognize the partition. Tried EXT2/3/4 with and w/o Linux Swap.

SOLVED

Reformatted and Re-partitioned using Partition Wizard

1st Partition 14.something GB FAT 32 Primary

2nd Partition 1.01 GB EXT3 Primary

In clockwork mount sd-ext and unmount sd-ext, Reboot!

I own a Dell XCD 35. I was looking for a screen guard but could not find one anywhere locally. So I got a screen guard of some other phone applied. It fits almost well and works fine.

I was looking for a carry case for the phone and I could not find one. Anyone knows where I can find one? No local shops have screen guards or carry cases for the XCD. Not even Dell stores.

Looks like the new leaked build based ROMS are really good. The new kernel brings a lot of optimizations and the battery life is way better than any other Roms. See here. Happy or not with Leaked ROM - Android @ MoDaCo

Sadly, the new kernel is difficult to incorporate into CM7 as of now. So we have to choose between the features of CM7 and the optimizations and battery life of the leaked builds.

Fruit Ninja works perfectly on CM7 (Green v5). Overall the phone is super snappy. Feels faster than SSrls5. Can't comment on battery just as yet.

So far had an issue with the proximity sensor on one call. Haven't tried the GPS so cannot comment.

@Arun

But i think, the kernel has not been released by ZTE right ? So what is this kernel that is used in the leaked ROM or am i confusing Kernel with something else :S
Because on modaco everyone is saying that when ZTE releases kernel for ZTE CM7 bugs will be fixed.

Kernel is leaked now but it's the real deal. Only thing is there's no source to the kernel so we can only use the kernel as is without any modification.

Once ZTE releases the Rom officially then they will also release source in sometime, as per license terms they should. After that devs can modify it to function with CM7 as CM7 uses the kernel in some different way, I've no much idea on what's the issue but even with the source incorporating it into CM7 is going to be a hectic business, due to the different ways the leaked rom and CM7 handle the kernel.

Ok I have decided to take the dive for the Ginger Stir Fry based on the leaked 2.3 ROM. Mine is currently Gen 1 on Portuguese Spring RLS3b.

So here is what I have to do I guess:

1. Convert to Gen 2 using this method:

Gen1 to Gen2 TPT upgrade - Android @ MoDaCo

2. Install the Ginger Stir Fry

Anything else to keep in mind :P..dont wanna brick the phone :D

Even though CM7 is awesome. I'd any day use the Official release if it means better battery life and no bugs.
Yes even I'm gonna try one and see how it does. Psyloid (maker of CM7 Green) has announced that he won't be supporting CM7 Green anymore, V5 is the last version. He's making another ROM based on the leaked build. Here it is [ROM] Blue Ginger V1 - Android 2.3.4 - Android @ MoDaCo

I'm looking forward to installing this. He does put together a good set of apps and fixes and I like it. Will try this ROM soon for 2-3 weeks and then decide if I'll be settling with CM7 or the new builds. Meanwhile, let's hope in some way they get to use the new kernel in CM7 after ZTE releases the source, then it will be good for everyone, people wanting CM7 features or the ones who like a clean no frills close to AOSP Gingerbread Rom.

Nope, that's it. Make sure you've the ROM ready in SD card before TPT. Very easy process, nothing to worry unless it is interrupted. :)

@supra, post back once you have done with dive.

Currently i am on Gen1 SS. Will i miss out on anything with the stir fry ?

Just if anyone wants to update, there is a RLS4 of the Portuguese Spring ROM. Yet to download and install it.

In the change log he mentions that notification power widget has been fixed. I will check the reviews from people who download and then will flash it.

[ROM][FROYO] [GEN1][GEN2] Portuguese Spring RLS4 [22-06-2011] - Android @ MoDaCo

Also a FYI, wbaw is stopping development on the Ginger Stir Fry ROM so dont expect any more bug fixes etc on this ROM at least.

i am using GB stir fry B4 , and getting score of 795-810 on quadrant benchmark.
ROM is quite stable for day to day use.
2 % battery was used for ~10hr 45min(overnight usage) when phone was idle.
DSP Manager seems to be working.

there are some minor bugs ,
after re-enabling the gps ,gps icon doesn't show up on notification bar so i have to restart the phone to use gps again. (Enabling/Disabling GPS Doesnt work so i have to put it ON permanently).
sometimes same thing happens with data connection,to rectify this i have to toggle between airplane mode ON and then OFF and then data connection establishes.
