I have used my PL11, EP630 and CX300 with my XCD35. None of them sound good. This phone is simply not made for music.

Have tried various players like Poweramp, Uber Music, Player Pro, Stock 2.2 player and Stock CM7 player. No luck in getting decent sound.

So which of them was better?

^ The N8's screen guard might be narrower because of the N8's 16:9 aspect ratio compared to the 16:10 aspect ratio of the Blade.

i got myself a 100buck screen guard .. of 4.3in screen :P then cut it to size :P . Wil need to give my blade for RMA so will need to get a new one .. so thinking of getting those expensive 500 bucks one :) .

But that scratch guard extends beyond the screen to the edge of the rim...

Besides its just 20-25 bucks...no harm in trying

Usually I prefer the PL11, but on the Blade I'll pick the EP 630 over the other two.

Are u sure EP 630 is better?

Is this because of the restarting issue? Have you taken it to a service center yet? Please let me know how they handle this so that I can have my friends phone replaced too.

Give it a shot, then :)

Definitely not better when I pair it with my Sony Walkman player, but with the Blade it gives better output than the other two IEMs do.

hi guys my brother wants me to install android 2.3 or any other roms for his dell xcd35,so please suggest me any roms that is best. and also please instruct me how to root it because i am noob at installing a rom.:ashamed:

My ZTE Blade seems to have lost sound. I cannot hear alarms or ringtones. It just vibrates in alarms. It seems anything that uses sound refuses to play. Not even through earphones.

I tried playing music but it refuses to play. As in forget the sound, the music itself does not play, seems to be always on Pause (the slider does not move ahead). I think the sound drivers or something have gone corrupt.

This has happened probably after i deleted the dalvik cache and cache partition (did i do this wrong??) using CWM.

It seems i have to install a new ROM and the only thing that worries me is the ICICI iMobile app.

I have the ICICI iMobile app installed on my blade and i can use my bank account through that. I am not able to access my bank account using online banking because it asks for OTP each time and i do not get that. So with changing the ROM, i potentially cripple the ICICI app rendering me unable to use my ICICI bank account altogether.

Is there any sure shot way to ensure that the app works fine even after i flash another ROM ?

^ Use titanium backup to take a full backup of the app and restore it on the new ROM that you flash on the device. It should work fine.

Ok will do that. I hope it works.

Btw which is the ROM i should be installing now ?? I have been away from Blade ROM scene for past few months so have no idea.

I have Clock work Mod Version 3.0.2.7. Is there a need to change my CWM version to install new version ?

Current ROM is GSF old version.

My main expectations with the new ROM is lag free UI, not keen on lots of features.

Did clearing the caches solve the lag issue anyway? And there's no reason why clearing that should have killed the sound. You don't have a clean nandroid backup of your current rom? That should always be the first step both before and after installing a rom.

^^I will have to see if i have a nandroid backup or not. But even if i do not have it is ok as i would want a clean install anyways.

I remember one thing that might have broken this.

I mistakenly once pressed the volume + button and restarted the phone (i wanted to go into CWM and should have pressed volume -) and then got that green text and as soon as i realized my mistake (only a second must have passed), i immediately removed the battery to avoid some wrong ROM getting flashed on my phone.

Then i restarted the phone normally and for some reason all my apps on memory card disappeared but they came back after some time but some of them started behaving weirdly and i also started to encounter force closes on some of the apps.

So now since i want to install a fresh ROM, how should i go about installing it and which is the preferred ROM now ? Link will be appreciated.

Also is there any reason i should update my CWM ?

for a wrong tpt to have been installed you would have to have an image folder on your sdcard. but simple pressing vol+ won't load a tpt. it's home and vol+ i think. you just seem to have loaded it into bootloader instead of recovery. no reason why that should have done anything. Anyway, what's done is done, i think cwm 3027 should be good to go for installing cm7. just copy the zip to your sdcard and verify it. in cwm wipe the usual partitions (system, data and cache) = wipe data/factory reset. then flash the zip. also dont forget to install gapps. and your blade is gen2 right?

Alternate roms:

(ROM)<<<Blade Mix 365>>>(gen2)ICS+LauncherPro with ICS ICONS - Android @ MoDaCo

[ROM][GEN1-2-3] Moldovan Mile-High-Mountain-Pie RLS7 (Android 2.3.5) - Android @ MoDaCo

[ROM] <<< Fish'N'Chips RLS2 >>> [GEN2] - Android @ MoDaCo (maybe not if you're a vegetarian!)

Yes my blade is Gen2. I think i had used the wbaw's TPT method to make my blade gen2, few months back.

From whatever i read in the thread, it seems that the CM and Blade mix are most popular ROMs.

But for CM7 too, there seems to be two links as per your post. Both are under download.cyanogenmod.com

Can you clarify what is the difference between

update-cm-7.1.0-Blade-signed.zip

and

cm_blade_full-257.zip

257 is the latest nightly. the first link is the last 'stable' release.

you used wbaw's 160mb system tpt right? smaller ones are running into trouble these days.
