Ouch!! Thought it takes around 24hours to ship. My order is in "Packing" status now and I was like expecting it to ship by tomorrow. Another thing, I checked with Citibank and there were 3 more transaction for INR67 at play.com apart from the cost of the phone. I am beginning to have my doubts about this site. @lavans4u - Just open an Aramex Shop N Ship account for 5 USD, then ask your friend to post it to Aramex Address by Royal Mail, will come to around 3 GBP by First Class. Shipping from UK to India will be only 10 USD + Tax.
Total cost will be around Rs 950. The Shop N Shop account can be used later for other products as well.
If you want to ship direct, it will come to around 12-13 GBP ~ Rs 900 - Rs 950 by Royal Mail International Signed For, this is just like normal Registered Airmail and will be delivered and handled by India Post once in India. Tracking will not be available once it leaves UK.

difficult to find out if the box is seal packed, may be your friend can ask the staff there as they know most of the times what lot they have received, for top up i think we have to dial in customer care number and they will apply it. No idea about VAT refund though, i think you can only claim it when you are travelling, not sure if you order it from there, though your friend can claim it, m not sure.hunt3r said:

BTW various net reviews say there is not much diff. between OLED and TFT for this phone.
UK version has advantage of 512mb Ram, while indian version has 256mb of RAM.
That's not the model no. it's the build no. that ends with 0B05 for OLED version. It can't be verified without booting the phone.m0h1t said:

On 24th I got SMS / email from Citibank that "Rs 6,964.40 was spent on your Credit Card ".
Now it is showing in my online credit card statement as Rs.7233.26. So, Rs.268.86 has been charged by Citibank as foreign exchange conversion charges may be.
BTW, my order, at this moment, is still "Packing".

I have a question (albeit a n00b one).
My friend stays in the UK permanently and already has a mobile connection.
Now if he takes another mobile (which is locked to Orange in this case), wont it be a problem
for him? Or should I only ask him to pick up an unlocked phone from UK? In that case where
can I get an unlocked phone from UK? (Any online links would be much appreciated).

^ This is a PAYG ( Pay as you go ) type phone, just like a prepaid connection. So there is no contract or anything of that sort, hence your friend wouldn't face any problem.

^ Thats right for a with warranty phone. But you are getting this at almost half the price from UK without warranty.
