English TV series discussion

^ I have started hating Claire since the beginning of season 2. Her facial expressions are just killing it for me. Jessica, on the other hand...... :bigok:

Btw, any fans of Community here? I'm halfway into season 2 and I'm absolutely loving it!
 
2 more episodes to wrap up Season 6 of The Shield. It has been interesting this far but not close to the epicness of Season 5.

Will watch the final season after a good break. :p

Oww.. I haven't started with Season 2 yet .. you've given some saddening news.


And yes.. Biggest Community fan here .. :D
Season 3 is awe-friggin-some .. I've rewatched all 3 seasons four time now .. :D

I still prefer to rewatch Community over any new Sitcom.

I am able to rewatch Seinfeld, Community, Arrested Development and Whose line (both US and UK) an infinite number of times and still never get bored :)

Edit: Also Monty Python's Flying circus. \m/ \m/ (you got to respect a show that brings on a beatle for a throwaway end tag)

It's more of my own choice rather than a general feeling, I guess. To me, Homeland has been a little disappointing overall compared to the awesomeness of season 1. Still waiting for the season finale next week to amaze me and make up for the rest of the lackluster season.

Have heard great things about season 3 of Community. Season 1 started a little slowly and before I was about to lose interest, it hit me like a freight train towards the mid of season 1. Abed and Pierce are my favourite characters followed by Troy and Chang.

Thanks man. It's slowly climbing the charts on my favourite TV shows as well. Season 1 finale was definitely awesome and season 2 has been hilarious so far (I'm on episode 14 currently)

I didn't much like Homeland S01 .. only my dedication for Claire Danes saw me thru to the end of S01.
The show fails at the most basic level of authenticity. Its a regular cop drama with a CIA label over it.. which felt dodgy.

Community is one of the few shows that rewards multiple-viewings .. its a treat to rewatch and discover all the hidden props,jokes and gags its has been successfully experimenting with various styles of Episodic Direction without diverging too much from its core.

One of the best comic-ensembles on TV .. and yet each character has enough power to spin-off into its own TV show. (except Annie :p)
 
POI is one of the best TV shows right now. The best thing about it is there are multiple stories going on which coincide with each other.

Homeland on the other hand is One Dimensional.
 
I have mixed reaction towards Homeland S2. (S1 was good IMO)
But, Dexter - where is it heading? This season is kinda weakest of all. Lots of stories stitched randomly.

btw, do anybody follows Big Bang Theory. I love that show - but saw very few people talking about that here. :p
I am also following TAHM - though i liked the previous seasons more.

yet to watch e01 of all the shows(of course the ones i watch) since sept 12
 
Done with The Shield Season 6. The final season remains and I can't wait to see how they intend to wrap things up. The shocker was the photograph that ended up in the hands of Vic!

Will resume it after a break though. Plenty of games backlogged over the last few weeks. :p

First season is probably the highlight reel of this show. I can't remember much about season 2, but season 3, to me, was a disaster. The only creative (and probably the best) episode was Digital Estate Planning. Also, if you like Pierce, this season pretty much messes up his character. I have said this time and again, Chevy Chase is wasted on this show. The guy had delivered one of the most laugh-a-riot comedy flicks in the 80's.

Abed and Troy and probably the only consistent characters on the show, Chang too, to a certain extent. I absolutely loathe Shirley. Her character really annoys me. Bitta can almost be tagged in the same category. I don't know about the rest, but my enthusiam for this show has completely depleted.
 
I loved season 3, Remedial chaos theory was epic, and there were plenty of memorable episodes - the halloween episode, the one in the shrink's office, the law and order parody, the christmas episode (allison brie in a skimpy santa outfit = WIN!), digital estate planning, the oceans 11 parody, the pillows and blankets episode, the blade episode, troy and abed's move, the foosball, and so on. It was waay out there compared to "normal" tv, so either you'd love it or absolutely hate it.

Edit: I've edited this three times so far to add more episodes that just keep popping in to memory, so i'll stop now. :p

Love Community, the series starts off a little slowly, but picks up brilliantly from midway in season 1. Easily one of the best sitcoms there atm.

I found Homeland strictly meh.. On the other hand if you guys have not watched Louie, you are missing one of the best tv shows this decade...
