Audio Circle Arko speakers - Discussion Thread

Yeah, they had 4 pieces in display before I took one. Observe the first pic, there are a total of 4 Arko boxes on table, two on each side.

thanks! got a piece from there. Buyers beware, one of the pieces at skywalk has a non functioning tweeter - that piece is still there waiting for an unsuspecting buyer. full paisa vasool for 3.5k. thinking about building an active crossover to run my Z 2300 sub along with these to make a killer 2.1 :D

I purchased 2 pieces - one of them has a problematic tweeter. It must be operating at maybe 60% of the output as compared to the other one. Now, I'm not sure whether this was from the beginning or happened later. I'll be taking it to the service center tomorrow - fingers crossed.

Sid, how did you figure that out? Was the high freq. notes missing or something?

I noticed it when I felt that the right one was sounding as if on a higher volume than the left one (the main tweeter which connects to the power socket). So, I disconnected the speaker wire for both one by one and played a song.. the right one was louder and clearer. I then repeated this test on the set of the speakers which is working fine and saw that both had the same output.

Oh man, tried a DIY active 2 way with the Z2300 sub( foobar -> Channel mixer (60hz crossover) -> Asio4all -> laptop soundcard -> Logitech Z2300 sub and porta corda 3-> arko 80w. For a brief 20 minutes I had an insane system which pumped out SQ and SPL at the same time. Well until my dad threatened to throw it all down the stairs before the neighbours complained :ashamed:

Oh Wait, I still haven't unpacked it :/
I asked them to check after billing, but looking at all the packing & since I was in a hurry, I didn't check the speakers while purchasing :(
Hope all works fine.

So, are they out of stock of these speakers now? Or do they still have them in stock? If it is still in stock I will ask a friend in Chennai to pick one for me.

And, I got lucky. My friend had been to Skywalk Mall on Sunday evening and thankfully the 2 sets were still available. Informed him about one of them having faulty tweeter, and hence to pick the other one by checking them speakers. Finally a decent budget bookshelf speakers for me! Now, to persuade my friend to visit Bangalore soon so that I can lay hands on the speakers and put them to good use.

Thanks sriharsha_m & greenhorn for the headsup.

@Sei, did you get the problematic tweeter sorted? Any updates?

Gave the speakers on Monday to the Pune service center (carrying them around in an Auto is no joke; they're like 2 big rocks). Got a call from the Mumbai service center (the guy said that he handled service for entire India) saying that they can repair it but will not replace it. I told him that I have had these for less than 2 months and out of that period, I was away for nearly a month. I had already spoken to the Pune service center chap in January but could not take out the time to go there. He said that he will increase my warranty by another 2 months but insisted that I should accept a repair rather than a replacement since it will be difficult for him to explain why he gave a replacement.

I was quite insistent myself and had a good 10-15 minute discussion. In the end, he said that he will have to talk this over with his boss (who was not available at that time) and will get back to me. Initially I thought he was coming on a bit strong but later the conversation was quite good. He said that Circle doesn't advertise and saves the costs which results in cheaper products (with good quality). I told him that I have been buying Circle stuff (cabinets, headphones etc.) for quite some time and I am satisfied with the quality provided for the price.

They really are awesome speakers and I haven't even gotten a chance to enjoy them till now. :|

I was pleasantly surprised that I got a call and thanked him for taking out the time to speak to me. Let's see. Fingers crossed.

Hey @Sei. From which Croma branch in Pune did you buy the Circle Arkos? How much did you pay for them?
