Varkey, can you tell about the cheapest method/service currently one can use to get cellphones shipped to India (from eBay.com) ? Delivery time is not an issue but lower the shipping+duties cost, the better.

Cheapest would be PPOBox IMO considering the final cost after customs etc. Just make sure the seller sends it in a small box.

All they charge is $10, which IMHO is a pretty good rate. Unless you can have at least 20-30 packages a month I don't think you'll find a cheaper service.

No just shipping.

Customs is a fixed % of the declared value unlike SnS and others which most of the time depends on the mood of the customs officer. ;)

ishop is 25$ (calculator)
and for ppobox is 18-20 (again calculator)
Now the product's itself cost is 55$ and I don't wanna spend that much.
Can I save more with comgateway? Lets say around 7-10$

No, shipping alone will be about 25$ for comGateway, customs additional.

There is a minimum cost associated with any international shipment and won't go below that.
 
Could anyone please share a link where we can see what items have how much custom duty i.e. how much for phones/tablets, bags, small electronics items like Raspberry Pi?

I am planning to get Kindle, Rasp Pi(In India it's ~3.5K everywhere - almost) and a Rotchco bag. Can I get them in one go(as they mention I can hold shipping to India till every order reaches their warehouse? If yes, how much custom duty will be applied? Total cost or individual items which are taxable at customs?

When you say Oregon(or any other state) doesn't charge tax, does that mean Google will charge me only $349 for a Nexus 4 and nothing else other than shipping, if at all?
Or does that mean, that Google will charge taxes off $349 + shipping as in last case and then no state taxes?
Because last time I ordered from Google Play I wasn't charged any local tax as such.

Product name does not mean actual name, it mrans type of product.. The class..
 
^.. I know its 110v & I will be using the step-down converters. Should cost ~250 bucks locally.

I looked around but there were no 220v voltage adapters/sets/bases for these.. Also the adapter plug (which goes into the phone) is a different square type unlike the round ones we normally get. The expandable sets have the adapter soldered to the base & no plugs there...

Why not give PPOBOX a shot? I've heard its quite cheap.
 
I am bidding on an iPhone 5 on ebay. Can anyone tell me how to go about getting it to India? What is the recommend portal?
