Xiaomi has launched Mi TV Q1 75" - QLED, 192 Zones, 120Hz

Mi store also has HDFC Offer (5K off) from today
It's been there for a while and if EMI is used it's 7500 off, while in Flipkart if EMI is used its 14250 off, but no cost EMI not available for HDFC in Flipkart. Not sure if these offers are still working in Flipkart, I remember seeing this offer when the TV was launched.

Missed on buying the Sony 65x950g, and was waiting for toshiba u8080 (rebranded Hisense h9g) to go on sale but that never happens so bought this. Wife wasn’t onboard to spend 1.8-2L on the lg c9 or CX.

I’ve had this tv for over 2 weeks now

- I don’t have DTH so can’t comment on 4K upscaling, I only watch ott content + plex
- haven’t had much time to game on it, played uncharted on PS4 pro for 2 hours, input lag seemed ok, will have to test more
- this tv gets very bright
- panel is good, if you didn’t know this was mi, you could confuse this with a mid level Samsung qled
- blacks are pretty decent, so much better than an edge lit or the dled stuff, Dolby vision/HDR is very good
- fald algorithm is pretty decent, very little bloom and no black crush that I could notice
- viewing angles are good with limited color shift
- no back light bleeding from any corner
- no DSE, grey uniformity is very good
- arc works perfectly, dts and dd+ passthrough works just fine
- there is motion blur, motion smoothing help
- ui is a little laggy, but it’s only a minor nuisance. Getting a shield soon
- remote is fine, using button remapper to prevent triggering patch wall
- first unit I received was defective, received a replacement within the week from FK. I had also reached out to someone in Mi on Twitter and their after sales team reached out the very next day and assured a replacement.
- FK Jeeves service is sh1t. I installed it myself but had to wait for the Jeeves fellow to show up and open the box cuz FK declines 10 day replacement warranty otherwise.

Let me Know if there’s anything specific anyone body what’s to know.

You can also check hifivision for opinion from other owners

P.S. if you want to further save some money on the tv, buy it on no cost emi, and then close the emi and pay it all one go. HDFC support said they charge 3% for early emi closure but that’s only on non-merchant emi. You can save another 8-9k like this. Call your bank and confirm before you do this.

Congrats. Do share some pictures if possible and try film mode for good colours.

Extremely underwhelming panel. I would for sure give this a pass. Aside from size for price - there is nothing good about this TV. Colors washed out, whites are off. Save your money and buy something else if you're a stickler for picture quality - Just look at the YouTube logo in the below video -

Having said that - on paper this is a very VFM product if you just want a big tv and don't care much for picture/panel quality.
For people who had initially said x number of things about this panel with baseless bias and zero factual data. Please go through the below thread on hifivision for genuine feedback without brand bashing. Imagine saying that the panel is extremely underwhelming based on 1 youtube review!

In short it is one of the best tvs in this price segment. There are many discussions in the below thread on more expensive or smaller size options too. So, the below thread is in no way pro or against the tv, just actual information and not just brand bashing.

Imagine a user who came to te and got swayed by posts like the one I quoted and never got a chance to go through genuine content like hifivision thread above.

I fail to understand how blind brand bashing helps anyone but the basher to keep their bubble intact.

Please read the above thread if you want actual and not hypothetical views on the tv.

70% of that thread is people fighting with each other. :D

One thing that is inevitable on any tech forum i have come to realize is infighting, like the base in a pizza [emoji23][emoji23] (bound to happen when people are passionate about topics, which is why they are their on said forums) .. I saw it as oh toppings are good at least.

Agreed - That's what I've been saying all this while. However this may not be the best option for someone that has a keen eye and cares about PQ,

Went thru HiFi Vision and they pretty much echo what I have been saying.

Idk where you get brand bashing from ? But I quite like Xiaomi - Even purchased a substantial amount of shares in their HK IPO. Furthermore, actually considering recommending it to grandma who usually watches her bhajan/satsang/soaps etc where PC doesn't really matter and size will make a huge impact. I would not get it for myself personally, would rather go for a higher quality, smaller LG OLED.

I'm going the opposite way. Have an OLED and a FALD. Looking for a common room TV, and this fits perfectly. Only problem is missus. Convincing her will be tough. :bag:

Below is your statement and no offense but it is not even remotely close to the facts on that or even this thread

Code:
Extremely underwhelming panel. I would for sure give this a pass

Not one person their was commenting on the panel without trying unlike you whose first statement was that this panel is for those who don't want quality.

After trying, unlike you, none of them have said remotely close to the unanimous judgement you had passed that those who want quality should stay away.

Regarding your grandma's requirement of a TV below is strictly my advice and opinion, not facts:

Glad that you changed your mind after looking at the opinions on hifivision and I sincerely hope your grandma ends up enjoying the experience.

I think you're trying to again make a tongue in cheek remark alluding to this tv being only fit for watching bhajans, but I seriously doubt anyone who has a keen eye or any sense of quality would suggest anyone to watch 720p Tata sky on a 75 inch 4k panel. It will look horrendous. Not because of the tv but because of the lack of understanding of right product for the right purpose.

If your sole purpose is to get a big screen for dth, any person with an eye for detail would suggest you to instead invest in an upscaler and a cheap or good quality 1080p projector to project it on a 100 or 150 inch screen.

Before thinking about keen eye for detail I would suggest you to put more thought into identifying your use case and then identify the right product or solution

Why would one buy a 75 inch 4k fald panel to watch bhajans on dth? It is simply a bad product fit for this use case. This is what happens when you focus on the tree and get lost in the forest. After that you end up saying the tv is crap.

Again you are selectively quoting to prove a point and flamebait . Read the second part of that comment as well.

I’m stating to think you hate me as much as you hate Apple. ;)

In regards to projector vs tv. I measured the space available and it just barely fits the 75” panel. In addition the use case involves viewing under quite a bit of sunlight through the windows. A projector would also add some complexity which I hope to avoid.

Trying to put it as gently as I can. Everyone has different wants, needs, priorities. Image Quality is not important to everyone, rather there are only a few percentage of people in the normal population that are bothered with it. TE is not representative of average/typical indian person. We here are the more technically inclined ones.

My folks can't differentiate between 1080p and 4K on a 55" Sony panel and "thoda sa clear ho gaya lekin dono accha hai" going from 720p to 4k. But they would surely feel the difference when TV Size is upgraded from 55 to 75. They are not illiterate, rather highly educated. The typical indian person is like that. If selected to choose from bigger screen or better panel, majority will go with the bigger screen.

Please keep your pitchforks down, I'm sorry if I irritated anyone but it is what it is.

Just gone through many posts..
Nobody is putting a gun on your head to buy one..!

If I had a requirement to buy large screen TV from Known brand (Not Kodak or TCL)
my options are limited. sony and LG starts at 1.8 to 2L non QLED.
Samsung Qled at that size is 6L
LG Oled 77.. will be a dream.

I would choose this MI 75 for my home. will be happy for what i spent..
There may be minor niggles and the quality might not be audiophile grade.. I'M OK WITH THAT. I bought it knowing this.

I got VU when it came with 4K Tvs 5 years ago and I'm happy. That was a not a perfect TV, but satisfies my needs of a 55 inch TV.
There are many like me who would like to buy a big TV without breaking their bank or getting a personal loan.

This TV is targeted to them.. so... Peace!
