Nvidia RTX 3XXX Series announced

you can at best buy or microcenter, they do regular card drops at msrp only problem is you international warranty. so most probably shipping to taiwan for evga cards.
My brother will be coming by Jan next year. I dont mind about warranty as of now. Its a risk i need to take. I wont be overclocking or doing anything extra stuff like modding.

He did register with shopblt , they keep sending him email that they have not forgotten about the order.. etc.. i did ask him to keep visiting the stores once i a while , but thats hard for him , given the nature of his work.

i hope the prices starts coming down. even then , its seems the companies dont want that to happen... lets see.. if intel starts distrupting these both GPU players.

I doubt that will happen, I was in line for 3060 as well but its been almost an year so all upgrade plans have gone :D
i have ordered a laptop from amazon as stop gap was looking to cancel that before delivery and buy a 3060 with chinese energy situation worsening idk if normalizing of prices will ever happen for next 2 years atleast

I got a 3060ti invite last week on the same email despite having bought 3070 from RP Tech a few weeks ago. Sadly once I replied with details (not the same as I used for 3070) they probably checked my email and denied me the card.
I would have sold it to some needy gamer at MSRP or a very little above.

Situation with 3060Ti is whoever registered in Jan/Feb are getting it now, as for 3070 it's Nov/Dec 2020 people who're getting it.

so i registered in may.if it does come through i will return the laptop to amazon. anyone selling a in warranty 1070 or 1080 or 2060 etc is fine aswell please pm me ,dont want to get the laptop :/

If I get 3060 at MSRP then will sell my 1060 for 10k ONLY to a gamer or someone who is in need, I've been here for a long time and know who are the people that actually need the card and deserve normal price so for newbies it will be like a RP Tech sale :p

P.S. Guys please don't PM for the card as this is my only card for display and I won't sell unless new one is in hand.

Well in similar fashion. if I get a 3090 at msrp will sell my 2070 for what I got it for. not trying to troll you but a 3060 at 35k is a bit hard. 3060ti is available i suppose.

I never said 35k :p and believe me we both won't get our cards at normal rates so only hope is next year after ETH 2.0

I registered for 3060ti in Feb end and when I enquired it's status last month they said "For 3060 ti we are currently processing orders of people who registered in the month of November"

Getting MSRP cards before 2023 seems like wishful thinking right now. Indian market is heavily controlled by distributors as they're fully aware of demand. They'll limit the supply to keep their profit margins and so will the retailers. Prices will go down once people simply stop buying at inflated prices or eventually when the new series hit mid-late 2022.

People wont stop buying at inflated rates until there is profit to be made from mining, normal gamers won't spend double the money to play couple of games

lot of them even use parents money
lot of college students state want to learn ai/ml thus need a gpu. 90% of kids in my engineering college did this and same story is country wide in every engineering college. students with rtx 2060 laptops etc purchased by parents for "ai/ml" only 10% of them actually use it for ai/ml everyone else just uses collab.lot of kids in engineering come from middle class families who can afford atleast a 1050ti etc laptops so yeah

Oh no I was worried that by 3-4 more years my job would be in danger due to these kids learning AI/ML and being professionals in it.
Glad they're just wasting their time on games and yeah obviously lying won't help achieve anything in life except for maybe momentary happiness.

PS: I knew that but had to make the joke xD

most of these ml/ai kids only know how to use libraries like tsflow most of them suck big big time at ml algo's otherwise. on a serious note normal dev jobs can and will vanish look at githubs copilot. shifting to ops imo is better as ops people will still have to deal with proper implmentation of ml working etc. devops is the future of high paying jobs

You barely know the real thing then, there are gamers, impatient and who don't care if they spend 2x the MSRP to play games. They are buying it and that's why the prices are still up.
I get it that students buy those cards and parents will spend what ever it takes for studies but those are single cards per student and even lesser number when we talk about gamers but someone who is mining is equal to 6 such cases when he make a 6 card rig for mining. This is just my assumption and people with more insight can comment, I think if we compare then majority of these cards go to miners around 50~60%, 30~35% for students/institutes and less than 10% to gamers.

on point, institutes have old shitty gpu's my college was scammed for 80k they were sold a gtx 690 in 2017 for that amount, stupid prof who thinks he knows it all did'nt know what the latest card was and lamington road sellers took him for a ride.
