Get outsourced projects, easy and profitable. Do adsense and affiliate marketting. At the same time leave another yr and prepare, if the companies take you fine, you will get something. If they don't take you, by that time you will be anyways earning several lacs a yr.

If I were you I would sell that X6800 and get E6600/6400 + 1950XTX or 1900XT. Even if you are on a limited budget you can get a 1800XT 256 or 7900GT/GTO.

Try to do something and get the 1950XTX. Else go for a 1900XT 512/256, or 1800XT 256/512 since you are anyways gonna be upgrading in the next 6 months for dx 10, hardly makes a difference.

I would anyday let a dealer do the job rather than taking that kind of a risk, although you can read up and learn by seeing as well. Or go to any TE members house and let him do it for you.

It actually depends on you. I would have got a Geforce 7600GT + Microsoft Intellimouse or Comfort 3000 or Logitech MX 518 in case you get that much cheaper.
