Airtel Speed Upgraded?

Next day the tech guy calls up and informs me that Airtel has imposed a FU limit of 25GB on plans after which speeds for users with older plans will become half and no night time 1mbps. Reason he gave was that it was TRAI ruling.

I call up CC again and ask them wtf? and they respond by saying that the problem has been escalated to a higher level....after a few days still no response from their end.

I'm stuck at 512kbps all day long and it sucks. Looking to change to some other ISP but have no clue which one to opt for.

So at the end of the day the moral of this post is after 5 years of being a dedicated user of Airtel broadband connection they repaid me by pulling this nonsense :(

YOU DON'T NEED TO LEAVE

mail airtel presence,they are way better than airtel CC but still a bit cracked

or try to threaten them with disconnection

they make all kinds of excuses but if you shout of threaten to leave then they will come crawling back to your orinal plan.

it is only for people who don't retaliate.trai can't do shit when you have already subscribed to a plan.and airtel can't change your plans and whatever promised without your word

The thing is airtel night speeds are counted from 10pm to 6am.
Now back to 1mbps,not getting 2mbps now(yesterday was getting 2mbps till 9 30 am).
 
I am on Turbo 1299 to @ Hyd.

Same 512 to 1 at day, 1 to 2 at night.

Noticing speed bounces since last 4 days, dont know when it was increased.

However data transfer overall has not increased more then 20 gigs, so will wait and see when FUP will be applied.

But I will sure get pissed if it is totally reduced to 256 or 512 for entire day.

Im also subscribed to the same plan as yours, I've downloaded 62GB till now, and would have downloaded 80GB by the end of the month and my speed is still 1mbps throughout.

Im getting between 2-4mbps during the day and 2mbps at night time :P

I dont know if the day time speeds are temp. I should be getting only 1mbps during the day and 2mbps during the night.

Wtf? 2-4mbps! And im stuck with 1mbps throughout (Am I the only one here?)
 
even i have downloaded 90GB this month till now and still i am getting same 1 mbps during daytime and 2 mbps at night....the fup applies to only daytime speed i guess, so it will be safe to assume that i can still download more without crossing the fup limit...the day my speed reduces to 256kbps by downloadn only 25-30GB of data, i wont think twice before leaving airtel ...but till then airtel ki jai ho :)
 
^... We may love to hate AIRTEL but we do love it for all these flips... I do not recommend AIRTEL to anybody but still use it myself... ;)

By the way I've crossed even my last months record :)
 
I'm not too sure on that.

I actually called cc several and blasted them,that my speeds had not been upgraded.

I said that many people whom i know,who are on the same plan have been upgraded to 1mbps day and 2mbps night.

I threatened that i would leave Airtel,and was tired of being treated like scum by airtel.

At last the lady at the retention department relented,and said the speed would be upgraded for ALL 1299 plan users,as 1mbps day and 2mbps night in 2weeks.
 
2 weeks? When did you call? Let me wait and see..

Im tired of calling these retard CC people, I have had many issues before and to get some action out of them has taken so many calls out of me that now I try to avoid.
 
i called them 15 days back(thrice,and twice the next day).

Finally they called me 12 days back and said the same as mentioned above.

+1 to the fact that they are extremely nonchalant of what they speak,each person just says something totally irrelevant to the other person.(Once when i called up the cc,saying that speeds have dropped,the lady said "the atmosphere is charged sir,It will be back to normal soon!"..:S. One more incident is that they said they called my cellphone and talked to me 15 min back,when the cellphone was right next to me the whole time :|,that was in regard to complaint).

All in all,airtel cc are a bunch of nuts.
