Alan Wake - Discussion Thread

So does Writer conclude the story well ?
Yes, in a manner of speaking. The end of this DLC specifically hints a sequel, so expect a continuation. ;)

I wish I had played these DLCs immediately after the main game. It's annoying to try and piece together the main game's story references. The re-cap episode helped to some extent, but I remember digging deep into the discussion when the game was launched. I had completely lost touch of it while playing the DLCs. :p

Alan Wake PC a possiblility?

Alan Wake might still see the light of day on the PC according to Aki Järvilehto from Remedy.

During an interview with a Finnish website YLEX Remedy’s Aki Järvilehto commented on a PC version of Alan Wake saying:

We have received feedback from a lot of PC gamers, and I have to admit that yes, we somehow ignored that. Let’s see if in the near future we could have some positive news to tell you about dating!

So it sounds that the game that was originally cancelled my still be set for a release but most likely not in the near future

It's a little too late to be honest :| .Hopefully they'll give us an improved version for PC and not some crappy port.I doubt it though.

It's official. The game is coming to PC, along with it's DLC(s).

Alan Wake Confirmed for PC Early 2012

After rumors of an Alan Wake game being available for PC emerged yesterday amidst the findings of game files in Steam, Remedy Entertainment has officially announced the release.

"Coming in early 2012, the game will give PC gamers the Alan Wake experience they have been patiently waiting for," they announced in a press release today. "Remedy is a developer with deep roots in the PC space (Death Rally and Max Payne 1 and 2), so the game will have the high resolution polish that longtime fans will expect."

The PC version of Alan Wake will also include The Signal and The Writer DLC.

Alan Wake tells the story of a best-selling writer suffering from writer’s block. He goes on vacation to the small town of Bright Falls with his wife, Alice, to gain back his creative flow. Shortly upon arrival, Wake finds himself trapped in a nightmare when his wife mysteriously goes missing. He keeps finding pages of a manuscript he apparently wrote, but can’t remember writing. The manuscript is coming true. An involving psychological action thriller, Alan Wake raises the bar in storytelling and creating a suspenseful cinematic experience.

So there you go. Remedy originally intended the game to be released for the X360 and PC, chucked the idea of releasing it to the PC sometime before the release and now we have the game finally coming to the PC. Looking forward to play the DLCs.

If this is gonna come with GFW live il be acquiring through other means :p

but i heard it will be coming with steam works

if that's the case then count me in

i hope they release a boxed pc version in india for 599rs

cause that would be really sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought all these developers were forced to release it only on X360 by Microsoft to make gamers chose X360 over other consoles.I didn't know they had a choice in the matter :/

Here's hoping they release Gears 2 and 3 for PC...I hate playing it with a controller

Be gracious that these (once exclusive) titles even make it to PC. When do you ever get to see a Sony exclusive crossing over?

Woah! So soon? Wonder if it will coincide with Alan Wake: American Nightmare's release. Either way, can't wait to see the enhancements they have made for the PC version.
