We cant put out Ank1t Fadia as a fraud or total fake, because he knows his stuff, but that stuff is very limited. Having said that, he is bit like the onscreen sadhu/saint who acts in the ad that sells some divine lockets on skyshop.

But have to agree, the kid is confident enough to talk so much shit so convincingly. Have to give that to him.
 
For all the people who think fadia is great/uber/leet.The truth is the great hackers are seldom known.I have known some great guys who will never say they are hacker but they were the best.Hacking is a way of life/not promoting security/not showing how uber u are.Its an end in itself.Its pyschology+love of what u do+thinking out of the box+understanding urself.

Seems like he is smart, but he is a smarter talker than a do-er! Looks like someone who can manipulate the press very well and make himself look good.
 
The press people are not into investigating the claims he makes and hence earns publicity. If these press guys cross check what he says then things will be different. But they don't care to do this.

What's to dream about this position ? money's good perhaps, but you are the point person if anything goes wrong and its some snotty teenager somewhere in the world that will do it.
 
He looks like he is more of a Script Kiddie and a lot less of a real Hacker.

Ok, In my college days, I have myself done my fair share of tracing emails to the ISP by reading the headers and using readily available IP tracing tools. managed to make a no CD crack for Soldier of Fortune using knowledge from the Internet, dissected and modified a VB macro virus. For the most part I had used tools made by someone else or applied my programming knowledge a wee bit to analyze and modify already existing stuff. It was all for fun and learning and doesn't mean that mean I can go on claim to be a real hacker/cracker who can create their own tools hack from scratch if they need to. Script Kiddies are limited by the tools available to them. They are not real hackers/crackers.

Most of this guy's claims seem to be total BS. FBI would be the last entity on earth that endorses Hacking websites (even if its about ethical hacking). It's amazing how the media can glorify someone and make him a legend if they choose to. :rofl:
 
I too had once made a software accept any serial key by modifying the Assembly code of its exe. All this using tools available and a tutorial.

..or how he gets them to do it for him. He's getting the cred and that makes others uncomfortable.

He seems more of a salesman than anything else.

Press people are dumbass when it comes to computer and internet... and honestly, there is this stereotype about hackers that press sustains. Fadia is simply exploiting the press fixation with something that they don't understand.

IMO, Fadia has done nothing that really reveal he is a good hacker or cracker. He just knows a few things about computer security — something that even I know, and use widely available hacking, cracking tools to shock and awe public.

I would really love to know if Fadia has written a couple of trojans or password stealer. I mean everyone can use a password stealer or sniffers after downloading them from the web... but how many can write and develop these programs and deploy them successfully to bring down defences put around a network.

Because he's a grade A idiot who knows farkall about computing. He's somehow managed to build this image of being the second coming of Kevin Mitnick, but trust me, the guy is an utter and complete moron. Such a great hacked compiles a Hacking 101 book with tips from the internet and gets into Stanford and doesn't even study Computer Science there.

Oh, and the laptop in that photo is probably his.

Also, I know a lot of people from his school's computing club, and they all agree he's an embarrassment to their club and school. The first thing I did when I saw this link is to go and post it on one of his classmates facebook wall followed by "You must be so proud! :P"
