Look at the barcodes at the bottom of the router. There should be something like 'H/W ver B1'. If you've bought it brand new then it should be B1 as the older model is no longer in production.

I want to buy one so i checked the asus site..it says we can download torrents right out of the box(or somthing like that). Does the new firnwares don't need flashing?? Whats the main use of flashing??

Dont even think of that daba software Asus gives, It rarely works.

Flashing - Install DD WRT mod & it works perfectly.

Having a weird problem. After ~ 21/24/26/31% of the [DD-WRT] firmware is uploaded, the upload gets stuck and it says that the upload failed. Tells me to check the cables!

Tried with other cables and another machine, but to no difference. Any idea as to why? Using the firmware from here : ftp://www.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2011/12-20-11-r18024/Asus-RTN13UB1/

Also, the router is not bricked.

Its the latest, 2.0.2.0. Came factory installed. Lets see. planning to switch to dd wrt only to use the additional features, not planning to use it as a downloader.

It's ctrl + x using pyload is not worth on router it will crash alot

i am experiencing pretty low speeds . The speeds fluctuate just like asus . But as of know i can resume downloads

Yes you will experience with pyload once 1-2 files are downloaded make sure you set the number of connection set to 5
