Just a general observation I've made from my experiences in Bangalore. I'm from Delhi originally, just came to bangalore to do my BCA. How come the people here are hostile towards noth indians? Maybe the language barrier exists but are there any reasons for kannadas to hate northies? Real reasons are appreciated, not the "northies stink", "they suckss!11" and "I HateSzz Themzzs"

The autowallas for example, ****ing chutyas don't even ****ing talk straight. Overcharge at like 2 x the meter rate after 9 pm in the night. Almost got into a fight with one of them a week back. Stopped when a local friend told me about the bangalore auto union :P . In dDelhi, if an autowalla shows you attitude he gets slapped so hard he won't even think about looking you in the face again.

Sometimes, I just pray I can find a bangalore autowalla stranded in delhi, I'd so ****ing love to beat his face up with my friends. Let the bastard know what a fight is. :bleh:
 
arrey come to chennai.. you'll be fleeced like you've never been fleeced before.. and the standard rates thingy still hasnt been implemented yet.. not ONE auto i've seen has started using the meter.. :|
 
lolz..i dunno what to say....all ican say..is dont do somethin..serious...once my dad got so angry on a autowallah..tht he held him by his collar...:clap:
and he got damn scared....:rofl:
otherwise when da auto wallah overcharges..my dad asks him to turn the auto towards a police station lolz...:) and den..he is back to normal...

so try the any of the above...and yeah by the way i am in mumbai..and mostly all mumbai auto wallah.are quiet good to localites..but if they find some nice bakrah..or a outsider...then they dont leave him....and very few autowallahs are all time..******

When I came to Bangalore about 5 years ago, I only used autorickshaws for travel - no problems at all, but somehow they got corrupt after a couple years... it's as bad as Chennai now, which as far as I can remember was the worst.
 
lol nothing beats Chennai autowallas if u can't speak Tamil....they charge like 50 bucks for 4-5 kms......at least in blr they go by meter

lol its not that bad yet! you can usually create some noise and walk away here but in chennai nothing works :P I remember paying 70bux for what should have been a 20bux fare :@
 
arre bangalore is by leaps & bounds better than Chennai....

in fact bangalore autowallahs used to be better than Delhi till a few yrs ago, but don;t really know how it's like now

Exactly... Back in 2002, I visited to Bangalore because of a test at the IISc, I had traveled by Autos then and there were no problems at all. They charged correctly even with out the meter. I liked the city too. Then I visited Bangalore again in 2004 and everything changed by then. Though the autos were not that bad, every else was quite different from what I first saw. From being a dream place to be in, its turning to be quite the opposite.
 
Southie rurals have an agenda against anyone who doesn't speak their language.
Some of them are anal enough to not even acknowledge your word (in whatever language) unless you start emphasizing your D's.

You just have to learn to cope with this stupid little thing...

:D yeah rite...hyderabad is an awesome place..man ..gr88 hospitality...really nice ppl ..i had come there a few yrs back..and really loved the place..

specially ..the golcanda fort. .and the ramoji film city and other places...

also how can i forget the yummy ..hyderabadi biryani...:P

now i just want ..to visit ..Delhi ..as i ve never been there...infact never been to the north of india...delhi ,agra..and den to nainital..shimla....just wanna visit the whole of north..india ..at one go...lolz..

and den next would be ...Kerala..wanna ..see the god's own place.. .!

also...one more thing...does any1 knw ..which is da place..that theyve shown in rang de basanti ..where the gang usually goes..and the place in da song pathshala. from where DJ and sukkhi drink beer and fall down...the place really looks awesome...but i just dnt knw where its located....

if any1 knws..do temme .. !

I have had not much problems in south as i used english sometimes.

Its nothing much to do with language, its rather auto $hit happens everywhere................

though once had a little word with a bus contractor..damn it was packed bus.
 
Oh... not just with auto wallahs...... In our office canteen, the caterer refused to put on a new channel. It had to be blasting Kanadda music.... the option of silence was also not acceptable.

You tell him something in Hindi (which he totally understands btw), he will reply back in Kanadda. You say something in English.... he replies back in even more Kanadda.

God damn... Hindi is national language for no reason? These people should be banned from watching hindi cinemas then. They use this ploy to take that extra Rs 20-Rs 40 from unwary people. I usually prefer Muslim auto riksha wallas in bangalore. Most trustworthy as far as I hv seen from my experience. They will ask you Rs 10-Rs 15 politely if it is night or say a far off deserted kind of locality. But the meter is always spot on.

Ahem.. i can say Northies too have an agenda against anyone who doesnt speak Hindi..

In fact, i find that rural tamilians to be some of the most polite people i've ever met..

going a bit OT here, but i have a teensy doubt.. in b'lore, is there a part of the public buses reserved for women? coz i found men sitting almost anywhere
I heard a reason why space is reserved on buses in TN is because the women here are very feisty

Bhaiya mere.... did I ask for a Oriya song? Did I ask for my "lovely" mother tounge? I asked for "ENGLISH" and "HINDI!" The language you work in and the "NATIONAL" language. See the pattern?

well to decrease the heartburn a little... the Govt-set Autorates in Chennai/Blore are 6/km w.r.t 3.5/km in Delhi.So its ~double anyways..

@KiD0M4N: u r right abt the Muslim autowallas in Blore. They seem to b the best of the lot! More power to them!
 
yea beat this... once a auto guy in delhi charged 20 rs for taking a U-turn and dropping me on that side of the road...i think thats the ultimate fleecing or i am that dumb :P..... i actually even bargained from 25 to 20, :P

Hindi as the national language - amongst the stupidest thing. Trying to enforce a language on someone just because its spoken by the majority makes no sense. And making it the national language doesnt mean "everyone" works with. And the rhetoric that its the "national language and everyone works in" is only a self-propogating statement. National language doesnt mean anything apart from the damn fact that its spoken by the majority. There is no reason to expect someone to know hindi.

And expecting everyone to know/learn hindi is even worse. lol...get out of the superiority complex that "Hindi is the national language. ZOMG these ppl dont know hindi. ZOMG these ppl are stupid. ZOMG these ppl dont know the national language". Very lame.
Back to topic, Bangalore autos are getting worse by the day. And chennai has always sucked cuz the autos are owned by the policement and politicians. Screw them biatches.
