Should I be taking this card? Has any user here opted for the 2G SIM and activated 3G on it?
This is insane. Why is the USIM not available anywhere? :'(
Send ACT 3G to 53733MohitPreet said:^ hey do u have any idea how to make my 2g bsnl sim to 3g
There is no difference in 2G/3G SIM only 3G SIM has high storage memory of 256k. Now days all the facilities of 3G are available to 2G customers so practically there is no difference between 2G or 3G, If you still want then that could be done by recharge of 1Rs.MohitPreet said:^ hey do u have any idea how to make my 2g bsnl sim to 3g
MTNL converted earlier bought 2G sim (3years old) to 3GSim without any extra chargesMohitPreet said:^ hey do u have any idea how to make my 2g bsnl sim to 3g

Also i told them i will give my driving license as id proof and electricity bill as local address proof (which has name of the owner and not mine). They declined that and said i had to submit a rent agreement copy. But at the end of day no 3G SIM available
They said it MAY be available next week. That too she is not confident about. :S
Seems there is super demand of BSNL 3G SIM Cards.
I guess then i wont get the 1 week unlimited download offer, so dont want to risk that.swap said:@ raksrules: yes thas true, why dont u get a normal 2g sim and convert it to 3G
Awesome! Thanks for the input. I guess I should go ahead with the 2G SIM then.virus32win said:SIM 2G/3G does not make speed, only 3G activation with plan matters. Go ahead with 2G SIM later activate 3G on it. I have used both 2G/3G SIM in 3G network without any noticeable change in data rates. Once BSNL has stock of 3G SIM, change it with simple reason like mobile does not boot/hangs on startup.
Do confirm us if that 2G to 3G conversion works and you also do get the 1 week of download. I too would go for same if that works because 3G USIMs are extinct hereDesecrator said:Awesome! Thanks for the input. I guess I should go ahead with the 2G SIM then.
How did you have the 3G activated on it? ACT 3G to 53733?

Also how much cost will be involved if 2G and then subsequent 3G conversion and any FRC if needed. Please explain the break up if possible.
