BSNL EVDO - have some queries about speed and charges

Thanks everyone, so from what i understand is we have the screenshots of the Nam, the general settings and we have the PRL.

1.First we need to use the sierra unlock utility and clear the exx. Post clearing the exx should we write anything on it or leave it blank, If we leave it blank i hope it does not write 12345678 as per cisco_tech earler post. Or after making the exx blank should i write the bsnl exx.
2. I think next step would be to use DFS and load the same settings as we have in our screen shot for exx, NAM which has the SID & NID and we also load the prl file saved from the sim.
3. Post writing all this to 595u we just need to do a reset and it should work.

Is there anything else we need to do here, please feel free to edit my steps documented about. I want to get this done in one shot , so don't want to miss anything out.

Thanks, have updated my post, the activity is planned for this afternoon post lunch, As of now no power at my home. Will call you guys if i get stuck and would follow the steps.

i need some information about the evdo especially from the maharashtra users

a)How's the speed?
b)Is there any unlimited plans available and if yes then do they have speed cap?
c)Which modem to go for ?
d)please mention the expenses involved in the purchase of evdo

waiting for ur success bro... i am all excited now... i want to buy the modem from u... has it reached ur hands ? i wish i could meet u one day for buying & getting it unlocked & reconfiguring for BSNL....do u need a ZTE AC8700 device bro ? oops sorry, i remember suhas exchanged his prithvi modem for AC8700.... fine...nothing should be a hurdle for u in getting succeeded....keep me updated pls...

1. Speed depends entirely on your location.
2. Yes, Rs 750 + tax. No speed or data cap
3. Well, the Sierra 595U is the popular modem here.

Guys thanks to kuduku (Vijay) we got the first modem working and this is the first post on the sierra wireless. Yahoo its working success at last after 4 hours 30 minutes.
thanks once again, will configure the next modem now.
 
oops... congrats Dushie.... good efforts ....
i have decided to finally buy the second modem.... pls tell me where i should come & collect it. no wi am in bangalore....
also post some screen shots of the working sierra modem on ur laptop/desktop including the speeds in IDM if possible...

Dushie : To be frank prithiv did surprise me but not discouraging anyone from buying this 595u device.
1.Stable connection
2. Even with poor singnal 1mbps effortless connection
3. speedtest shows i have got only 512kbps connection with very high ping :D
4. Even with full signal max average speed downloaded using idm was 130-140kbps :(
5. ANY inputs ?
Sincere thanks to Dushie & Vijay for seriously awesome effort & time ..

this was definetly not one mans game .

Yep, it was a herculean task, but its only half done, as have to get the 2nd modem working on EVDO, as of now its working fine in 1x mode but not connecting on EVDO. It tires verifying username and password , post which drops the connection and connects on 1X.
Any idea guys what the issue can be.
@kuduku: I rechecked all the settings last night and reconfirmed. On 1x it works fine, kept it connected on 1x for a long time yesterday no issues at all on 1x. But EVDO it is failing to connect.

None as of now, using the modem on 1X, probably work will begin tonight once everyone is back from work ,late evening.

Update 2 : Good browsing even though torrents is on ( so u need not pause torrents for browsing )
Even with low signal your getting satisfactory 1mbps connection screens coming soon .
 
sierra.JPG prithiv.JPG See the difference between prithiv I stay in EVDO gold mine area but sierra aint doing good job with download speed but prithiv did !! not sure whats wrong . @cisco_tech & @kuduku ?? any inputs ??
