did you try putting the first number in the second device and vice versa ( first number in the second device and second number in first device which we configured ) . Before we declare modem has a issue i want to confirm that second RUIM and settings activated on that are working fine . I know second RUIM works fine in BSNL modem but you never know with BSNL

Thanks, i had read the same, but was not able to locate the firmware, hopefully this would work. So is it recommended to load all the modems with this firmware, or only those with issues. Also another intereting thing that comes to my mind, can this also be an issue due to which Kaneunderground is getting only 1Mbps download speeds on his 595u.

with the available signal strength and time of posting the screen shot combined with the utorrent usage i feel the download speed is perfectly fine
try with idm in night or utorrent with only one download running with good seeds in night

Spent couple of hours last night and did a firmware update on the modem, was tricky but was able to pull it off. still no go. Got the other modem and tried settings on that also still no go. Seems somewhere something is going wrong. Will wait for Kuduku to check the settings out tonight to see if everything is proper. Configuring this modem is not an easy task, and thanks to Kuduku for the time spent and the knowledge he has on this.

Success, at last, got the modem working, post firmware update there was some issues with the settings, rechecked all settings, put in the required details and it worked.
The saga of getting modem to work has ended. I want to thank the following for their support :-
1. Kuduku without him this would not have been possible
2.Cisco_tech for providing good inputs and vital information
3. Varkey he was the stimulator to get me going on this journey and hand holding in getting the stuff
4. Kaneunderground : the patience and perseverance he showed on Sunday where we sat down for 7 hours to troubleshoot and get his modem running.
This post is from my 595u connected on EVDO .Success at last,
Will look at speeds and configuration settings later. Too tired as of now with the amount of time and effort spent on this.
In the end it was worth it.
@Dushie bro, pls post some screen shot of the speeds in IDM with resume support....
by the way, u didnt tell me where i can come for buying the modem.....
i appreciate that u have really worked hard to get the modem working...

Updated the firmware on the second modem and got it working, within seconds after changing the specification settings. Learning from this, what Kuduku said is right, Verizon firmware is good, as it got configured pretty fast and no issues at all.
plikmuny: I messaged you that i have not taken a call yet on selling the modem bro. Will keep you posted once i take the call, As of now its too soon. Give me some time. As earlier after committing you were doubtful to buy the same and i said it's ok, post which i changed my mind and other plans.
Also you did not answer my question which i had asked that if you do not have signals in Tumkur, what do you plan to do the same.As i did not hear anything from you regarding EVDO signals or testing, i am unable to understand what you plan to do with it.Also your decision to buy keeps fluctuating.
With regards to speeds my pings are high around 358 ms and getting upto0.5 Mbps download speeds in day. Still have to test it out at night also need to have a look at configuration settings. As primarily we were concentrating on getting it connected on EVDO and did not spend time on tweaking. Now once it is connected on EVDO will spend time tweaking the same.

Great to hear that. So Finally it is working now. what exactly it was? Configuration or firmware ?

Firmware definitely, as the same settings worked. There was some bug or issue in the firmware which was not letting it connect on EVDO, even with the correct settings.
Post firmware update , after correcting the settings it worked fine and connected on EVDO.
Did a speed test from a different room.Ping is low and speed is also low.

I am getting low pings, but low speeds too,with -98 dBM.
There is a document that you need to follow for the firmware upgrade. I would not recommend you guys to do this as this can brick your modem. Also if it ain't broken don't fix it.
But for anyone having issues like i had this would work. (Disclaimer : Myself or Kuduku do not take any responsibility if you brick your modem trying this process)
All credits for this goes to Kuduku for finding out the same. I just followed the doc and got it done.

IT shows you have full signal !! hmm i dont understand with the speed test though ... Try downloading any software using idm that will be the real test[
