I am in. I will take 2 or 3 if no one else requires. That should make it 6. My battery is gone too..
 
one modem has been shipped and has reached my colleague in US. So by next week i will have a Verizon AC30 to experiment with. There must be some way to unlock this and both the sims working. I am also searching online but not able to come up with anything.

By the way, this modem supports 4g LTE, 3G , 2G & CDMA. So if this can be unlocked i am sure it will be one hell of a modem to use.

Already tried that . It installs the drivers and and a GUI to interface with the modem when connected with usb cable . Then it logs in through usb cable by this http://ufi.home/login.asp
Now for this login it ought to have that firmware . Fivespot doesn't have this login from WAN available . And this software doesnt install all the drivers . One port was left whose drivers couldnt be install . Today i will do the comparison of what was left
Will try the firmware link and update
 
How do you add balance to your number? I went to paytm, did a special recharge for Rs 251/- for unlimited 7 days. The money got deducted from bank account, paytm says its successful but bsnl site (genext) says I'm on general plan with 100 MB usage free for 1 week(new connection). Also, does the number come up as 12 digit number on the genext site, if so do you enter it in the same way on paytm.com?
 
kuduku Gr8, but please ensure you have a copy of your original firmware, as i have not tested this firmware so anything can happen.

Also have some good news now my cable provider has started to provide internet and he is giving Upto 10Mbps @ Rs 999 per month. He is using some modem from US and coaxial technology.
The cable goes into the modem. That has a video out port that goes into your STB and has 4 lan ports to connect .

I am contemplating going for this, as i tested and the speeds were good.
@varkey just in case if i want to switch from the 750 plan, which plan can i move my EVDO to, so that i do not need to pay any monthly rentals and the sim remains active. I do have access to the south zone website, please guide which plan to select and change too. As i don't want the sim to expire, want to keep it active without spending monthly rental.

got 2 firmware versions saved
EVDO general plan prepaid , can make calls and use EVDO pay as use . I have this in ZTE AC30
 
Gr8, waiting for a review after updating the firmware i posted, does it work or the effort went waste.

didnt work , i tried Malaysian and Indonesian firmware , they all check firmware versions and exit . Somehow there must be a way to disable firmware version check and install like we did for Sierra 595U

@Dushie : Just change the plan to EVDO General, you can activate the unlimited STVs anytime you like.

kuduku : Currently i am not able to find any other solution for installing this, just the way we did on 595u. But had a question are the firmware versions same, the one you have currently and the one you are trying to upgrade. Also, if they are same is there any way to downgrade the verizon firmware and then update with this one. As it may work, i will continue to search and also check with my friend if there is any other solution for this.
@varkey : thanks i checked the link and it gives couple of options, immediately, schedule and next package cycle.My package expires on 10th of next month. If i select next package cycle will it automatically change to evdo general after the current plan expires.

Dushie see when i try to upgrade/ downgrade any version it checks the version installed and doesnt upgrade , just exits with the error that version mismatch . Like verizon has B10 , when you install B12 it checks whether you have B10 or B12 and will not upgrade/ downgrade anything else except B12 . Each companies firmware checks for that companies older or same firmware version . All firmware version have different versions with their service provider name . there has to be a way to disable this version check . Firmware guys can tell us that if any here . As you are aware that except verizon one , unzip doesnt work on any of them .
Verzion doesnt allow downgrade from B12 TO B10 but that was easy to circumvent . It extracts the firmware in temp and then installs . I overwrote all files in temp with B10 to downgrade . So if we are able to unzip any other firmware than verizon than it will install that but till now i havent found any which can be extracted correctly . Indonesian and Malaysian both couldnt be extracted . Japanese couldnt find firmware download link .
 
kuduku: Will keep searching and see if i can come up with something. As of now seems like we have hit a dead end, i tired searching for the photon wi fi hub firmware also, but did not see any sites having that. If we can get hold of Indian firmware then maybe that will work. Even MTS is selling this one, so will see if they have any firmware for the same.

varkey: It"s not working,i went into the option plan change and selected EVDO general after which i selected next package cycle. After i click next it is giving plan change failed and not accepting, then i selected the option schedule and check the dates for my next cycle which was 14th September. So i selected schedule and put in 13th September for plan change to evdo general. After clicking next it worked and it said plan change successful.
Hopefully it has got changed, will have to wait and watch the same.

Any chances of getting Aircard 595U or 598U in India? Is there any EVDO device with external antenna port available in India? I'm already using old device and want to upgrade to 3.1mbps. Can u guys put some light on uploading speed of Rev A devices?
 
You have to get it from US and ise it here, locally very difficult to get a 595U. you can connect external antenna to 595U. You can also connect external antenna to other local datacards availabile in India. Upload speeds vary, i get most betweek 5 to 10 kbps.
 
None of the devices provided by or for BSNL have external antenna port. My requirement is a good EVDO Rev A device with antenna connector which can be used in BSNL EVDO network.

Dushie, Can u tell me which EVDO device(antenna connector must) can be used in BSNL bought from other operators? ZTE AC2766 or? Have anyone made yagi antenna for their evdo device?
 
Well, just go back couple of pages in this same thread and you can see the posts made by Kuduku.Where he has given plenty of details about the antenna. Personally i have used a Patch antenna along with 595u it did improve the signal strength but i did not see any great improvement in speeds, which can be due to various reasons.

Kuduku did come up with a much improved solution of using the patch antenna inside a dth dish which improved the performance. Yet to hear more from him on the same.
So he would be able to guide better on this.
 
Well I cant take hassle of buying from usa etc. rather i think i should find a device in India with external antenna port or maybe someone sell their Sierra or Novatel Aircards.
