BSNL EVDO - have some queries about speed and charges

You've to manually close ZTE wireless "APP.exe" via Task Manager and open AxesstelPST, choose the right port and click "Confirm". Maybe ZTE App is accessing the port so PST is unable to use it.

Couldnot Open COM8/COM9 Error :confused:

Edit:- I was able to have a glimpse at 2Mbps+ For about 30-40 secs :D[DOUBLEPOST=1366371813][/DOUBLEPOST]

Prithvi By Default is a Very Weak Modem,Close to useless! At Stock Normally Plugged It barely makes out 100-200Kbps!Anyone thinking of Buying it Beware even peanuts are more worth it :bored:

Due to Rain and Bad Weather,Broadband Stopped Working so I had to use the EVDO.While Playing with it! I tried attaching a Pin with a Rubber Band and Speed Shot to Nearly 800Kbps! And Till I kept it attached I managed to Pull 700Kbps + All time! Without it I am stuck at 100~250Kbps! I tried all this while my 1Day Unlimited Plan was about to End! Would have experimented more but I was running out of time!

@aryacooldude yes yes.. exactly .. the download speeds are similar to mine in the second screenshot. can you guide on the placement of PIN where to enter it ?
regarding user base I guess it should be tower specific I can beam my repeater's antenna to towers even further than few kms.. I had tested it by changing from nagpur's tower to nearby village's tower. but not much improvement in speeds. signal strength shows -79 dbm all the time.. it doesn't seem to show better strength but i guess it is getting strong signal as my other phones/data cards show strength upto -49 dbm

by reading previous posts i have concluded that stock bsnl modems (prithvi and 2.4 mbps ZTE) aren't much worth. 595U is the one that i should be looking for. will try to acquire it soon and see how much it improves.

check market thread , for sale by @varkey 595U . He can even program it for you before sending if you give the details to him

What I figured out Its just the Two Signals 79dBm and 84dBm That I ever saw! Regarding Pin test it out on different points :D

What about Micromax 300c?.. also i am facing this issue while making axesstel pst to work.. I had tried to make it detect the modem by different methods. but didn't worked. even uninstalled bsnl connection manager. and then tried still it is not even detected as COM port anymore. i had thought that i would reinstall the connection manager. but the setup is also not working. its on widnows 8. I'm currently from my laptop where it is detecting normally.. (1st as a CD then as a modem)
PS: i have the drivers back up and even the connection manager backup. but it just doesn't gets detected as a modem so it isnt working.

Just Restart and Do a Fresh Install![DOUBLEPOST=1366459954][/DOUBLEPOST]Is there any other Portal like http://genext.bsnl.co.in/cdmaprepaid/index.php? Bcoz I cant add my number here :| Says "This is not a prepaid CDMA Number"

The drivers for Win 8 and XP/7 are totally different. I face the same issue. My prithvi modem will not work on the Windows 8 machine inspite of the fact that I got the software / firmware upgraded. If you have the software/firmware you need to try it on some system with XP/7 and try to use compatibility mode in 7 it will work.

Yes its very good but difficult to configure. I ordered and am stuck with it as I cannot get it working. Earlier I had tried another modem too and same thing happened. Its been a year that I bought the other modem and still lying idle!
