Reached chapter 9. The game is awesome now i don't know why. Gamespot should've given it alteast 8.

The butcher and the queen vampy were really awesome boss fights.

Anyway, finished the game yesterday. The gameplay was really fun and the last video just bumped its ratings to the top for me. Can't wait for castlevenia 2 ! :D

8.5/10 from me.

It's not that difficult on Normal mode. With proper upgrades & practice, you can easily beat this game. Which console are you getting it for?

PS3 with the patch.
 
Played the game a bit the cutscenes are awesome, only trouble for me is the dodging any tricks for it since i'm not a hack and slash player.

The game gets relatively easier towards the end with the added combos - fairly easier to use as well. You will however have a hard time with the boss battles. I am assuming you haven't encountered the first boss as yet?

I found the first one hard and the later ones simpler. QTEs are present. Once you figure out the strategy to beat the guy, it's fairly simple.

You shouldn't have much of a problem.

They are the easiest of the lot. If you have played Shadow of the Colossus, then you'll get a fair idea how it works. You still haven't reached the Ice Titan yet? He's supposed to be the very first one.
 
No started yesterday for half hour or so , weekdays gaming hours are not more than 1 hour.
 
Played the game till chapter 2

Things which i liked

->Combat is great

->Gabriel is nicely animated

->Environments are awesome

Things which i didn't

->Awful Path finding

->Fixed camera angle

->Gabriel running fast does not allows to view the environments which are great

->NPC are poorly animated

->Entire game till now i feel lonely, maybe because of lack of background music
 
I'm at Chapter 5 where i have to use faires to distract but how do i select faires i tried selecting them it never got selected
 
Finally completed the game, this was one lengthy game.

Cut-scenes and Boss Fights were awesome, though i felt the game becomes unplayable unless you have game guide with you; probably because the game has very poor path finding.

Would be starting Crysis 2 now.

Yes it was really good, the proprietary game engine is awesome in visual terms.

I was also about to give up the game but i stick to it especially after so many people insisted me on playing this game
