FDA Vaccine Advisers 'Disappointed' and 'Angry' That Early Data About New Covid-19 Booster Shot Wasn't Presented For Review Last Year

Research released by the New England Journal of Medicine found that "boosting with new bivalent mRNA vaccines targeting both the BA.4-BA.5 variant and the D614G strain did not elicit a discernibly superior virus-neutralizing peak antibody response as compared with boosting with the original monovalent vaccines."

The United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, South Korea, Japan and India all require Covid-19 tests for passengers from China. Germany has also discouraged non-essential trips to China, while South Korea has suspended issuing short-term visas to Chinese travellers until January 31.

Koreans went as far as suspending visas from China.

So everyone is seeing a spike in the last 7 days except India ?

How curious.

Numbers from USA all fine and dandy ?
Leave alone travel restrictions, wondering why world does not give a single sneeze about their statistics.

Could this have anything to do with it?

Three weeks later and how does the picture look like

Feb 07 23 - Last seven days WHO.jpg

India's numbers aren't moving. Not much change in MOHFW's numbers from a month back

Nothing for the US at this time. China is on the list now.

Numbers in France & Korea have halved, Japan's are a third, Brazil's are a quarter,

Germany & Italy remain the same.

The only place they increased is the UK and by three times. Up to 9k from 3k

SO the picture is changing. Turning positive for Korea & Japan.

Who's testing in India though? It's not necessary anymore.
According to an interaction I had with a street vendor yesterday the reason is the upcoming state elections. At least for my state in May and in the NE.

So you'd think states not having an election this year would be more circumspect given what's happening in China but no. Omicron (of which the Chinese variant is a descendant) came out of S.Africa and didn't cause waves for us or for that matter much elsewhere.

What did cause trouble was more the homegrown Delta that has since gone into remission.

Japan & Korea's numbers give me reasons for optimism. They seem to have peaked weeks back.
