They would play things down at least in my state. Even though they asked people to wear masks a month back, these days I see very few wearing them.
That could be the case but I think people have gotten over Covid. Nobody is checking the official number anymore. And nobody is bothered to test. It's just a simple cold or fever like flu. Nobody is dying today thanks to vaccines. 10 times more people are dying of malaria, dengue. A thousand times more people die for just being on Indian roads. These issues should get some limelight too.

Anyone who got covid lost some sense of taste? I can't taste spicy things like before now. Like eating raw chilli does not make my eye water some days.
There's some days where everything tastes bland and some days where everything tastes really good. Same problem with salt and sugar. It's like there's a dial for these taste buds and the virus is turning it down to zero now and then.
Edit: i forgot the reason i made this post. Yesterday i was eating a multivitamin tablet and it got stuck on my tongue and i chewed on it and crushed it into tiny bits to swallow it. Was expecting a really bitter taste but only got like 1% bitter feedback from my tongue and that 1% was making me think about scrubbing my tongue with a brush. (@_@) I shuuder at the thought of my taste buds getting 100% taste and biting into one such tablet.

Keep eating different things, stuff that you used to enjoy and not like pre-covid. This could work like the smell training that lot of people resorted to after losing their sense of smell due to Covid.

Yes. I tried lot of different foods. Like spicy kimchi ramen and 85% dark chocolate. First time i ate kimchi ramen and i can't taste any spices. Just tomato soup taste. Dark chocolate was bland 1-2 tries then got full taste of it. Felt nauseated by the taste. Tried cakes and different biscuits or bread and most of them taste dull. Ice cream tastes like foam. I'm getting accustomed to this dull palate now.

Oh man, that sucks. But keep at it. Not much of an option except working towards regaining your original palate.

I, strangely, have increasingly come to dislike sugar since getting Covid (Omicron variant) last year. Have dropped milk, sugar completely, and gone progressively up to 99% dark chocolate. Same for spicy food, prefer less salty/strong flavours now.

The cardiologist who has been leading international calls for the suspension of mRNA COVID-19 jabs demanded a full safety review into the use of Covishield. Citing a comparison (done till June 2021) published in a peer-reviewed journal, he said that the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine was far worse than Pfizer's mRNA jab in terms of cardiovascular effects, heart attacks, strokes and even deaths.

Why the newspaper doesn't cite the peer reviewed paper this guy is citing? Too late now even if it's true. Probably half a billion people have been vaccinated with this drug now 2+ times. Funny thing is he wanted govt to compensate people who got adverse effects. The same govt that took money from people and corporates to bring the vaccine "free" and pocketed a lot of it.

I wouldn't put too much stock into this, tbh. My family doctor summarised it well when he said that it's impossible to be certain there'll be no ill-effects with the Covid vaccine, especially given its expedited development cycle. It was a probabilistic call to launch all vaccines as it was either a vaccine or death/complications due to Covid as no one knew how the latter would pan out. And even in case of ill-effects, the casualties would still 'likely' be a rounding error in the overall scheme of things. I say this with full knowledge that as someone with markers for heart disease (overweight, family history of heart disease) and who has got all 3 shots of Covishield, I could well be part of that rounding error in the future.

Yeah, flu. That is what a relative told me a few months ago. Nobody says covid anymore only flu

This time of the year will see a rise because of the dry atmophere

It's humid AF now, the wonderful and draining summer has begun topped off with extra power cuts....WFH has became SFH (Sweat From Home)...
Humid ? where I am humidity is hovering at 30%. This is the lowest it ever gets. Great climate for flu and whatever to spread.

It's only for one month, once the monsoons begin which is Jul to Nov my average is somewhere between 65 and 75
Monsoon begins in early June (usually) here in Goa. Evenings are still pleasant, that's with a fan on my balcony at full speed. April and May are extremely tough, especially with the extra power cuts; although improved, they still leave a lot to be desired.

So everyone is seeing a spike in the last 7 days except India ?

How curious.
Little over two months later there are ten times as many cases. Not a big deal but they are testing again
