I really hope that the girl survives the ordeal.
I think the girl has been shifted to Singapore so if there is any misfortune people might not riot as much, and they will tell the public late too. It is typical of our government.
Reminded me of Malala Yousafzai, the 15 year old Pk girl who was shot in the head and neck by the Taliban gunmen but survived and was later transferred to UK for a better treatment.
Whatever it may be, inserting an iron rod into the vagina and damaging intestines classifies as torture not exactly rape. These men deserve nothing less than death! And a really painful one at that.

Even as protests are raging in the capital over the gang-rape of a 23-year-old medical student, another gang-rape comes to light. A 42-year-old woman from Jaipur was gang-raped by three men and dumped in South Delhi on Wednesday night.
Of the three accused, one- Dilip Verma- was arrested in Agra while the police are on the lookout for the other two.
The victim said she had gone to Vrindavan on December 22 and met Verma there. He accompanied her in the car back home. On the way two of his friends joined them. She was then sedated and raped by all three somewhere between Vrindavan and Delhi and then dumped her in Delhi's Kalkaji area.
"She told us that she was gagged, sedated and raped by the trio. They took turns to rape her. A medical examination has confirmed rape," a senior police official said.
A case of gang-rape under section 376(G) has been registered against the trio
The victim is conscious and undergoing treatment at AIMMS.

Nothing surprising. Females are valued less in our country, hence the mismatched gender ratio. It's the way they've been brought up as children, always given second-hand treatment compared to their brothers, never allowed to step out of home or choose their education and career according to their own interests, and later in life their marriage is also fixed according to what the parents wish, but the male gets to choose his wife.
This same mentality is also cultivated by most of the people, right from the beggar to the president. At every level you have misogynists, and they don't even realise they're being such, it's all natural for them.
The best way to combat this is through education of the next generation, though even this would be difficult as the teachers themselves are supposed to teach what they oppose.

You believe that women are given less value in our society? Are you speaking specifically of the less privileged castes only or does it include castes at every level? Do you realize that the world we live in is male-dominated and sexual discrimination is prevalent worldwide, even in first-world countries? India has a lot in common with other nations regarding sexual discrimination. But in addition to the reasons that we share in common with other nations, its our warped-out and hypocritical approach to life that worsens Indian society ten-fold.

Agreed. If Indian govt and citizens can't do anything concrete now, they should stop calling themselves an Indian and should start living with shame they can't protect their pride at home. Don't know what govt is up to. Rapists and offenders should be shot in full public view.
I am wondering what would have been the fate of those guys had this happened in the Saudi Arabia. They would have been stoned to death or beheaded in the public if this had happened there.
