It is always 'One Unfortunate Victim' when the Victim is a stranger.
Better Policing and Stricter Laws can definitely help prevent such incidents to some extent but it still up to the individuals of the society to behave and act like humans.
Pepper sprays or taser gun can do little to help when people gang up on you. The same can be said for Self Protection Training. In fact the pepper spray and taser gun can help incapacitate the victim.
The reason a number of people are asking for stone age punishments is because of the brutality involved. It is one thing to stab or shoot someone to death but that is not the case here.
The very though of going to the dentist makes me shudder.
Now imagine what went through the victim's mind when she was pinned down and saw the rod after being raped by so many individuals. Then imagine the excruciating pain that went through her body and thoughts that went through her head. The pain and agony she suffered.
There are people coming out saying different things.
Some say - 'She had a strong spirit to live. She said ,"main jeena chahti..."'
Who in their right mind wants to die and what did she do the wrong? Of course she wanted to survive we all do.
Touted as a 'Hero/Brave Soul'
Are we talking about the same individual - The rape victim? She was put in this position by some miscreants. No fault of her own. There are no Heroes or Brave souls just a victim who turned victim from the point the incident occurred to the point she died that led to more victims - her family and friends. May her soul rest in peace.
It was very unfortunate that she was at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong set of individuals. <- The word 'wrong' is repeated thrice in the sentence. The place would not have been wrong, the time would not have been wrong if only the individuals involved in the incident would have been right. In fact had the individuals been right there would be no incident.
These people should not be hanged. Imprisoned for life 'Yes' but every day one perpetrator is chosen randomly and stripped to his underwear and tied in public. Just like jury members are selected, a common man/woman should be invited and handed a cane and given 5-10 minutes to beat the rapist (can hit anywhere except the head - I don't want them to die in one blow) in full public view. This should go on till they die natural deaths and if they die from the beating the punisher would not be responsible. Let them live in fear for the rest of their lives, who will be the victim tomorrow and will he survive? - A very brutal and sadistic solution but I can't think of anything else that will work as a deterrent for our thick skinned society members.
