Is it just a 4% increase??or an additional 27% (to make a grand total of 50% reservation).Somebody plz clear this, cos am confused :ashamed:.

no one is supporting reservations but there are ways of saying things.

Upper caste have not built this country. its the people of lower castes who have also toiled hard and never evertreated at same level for 1000 years. they have a very valid and just point about exploitation and discrimination. what we disagree is with the ways of bringing them into mainstream. No one can disagree with the fact that "India" can never progress with 80% people left behind.

showering insults at sonia gandhi and other castes aint gonna get us anywhere..lets see my AIEEE marks jus camew out.. i dont wanna mention my engg marks.. but in the architecture aptitude test (which i did fairly well) i got a rank of 500 odd in tamil nadu(16k or something in india)... but i haven been called in for counselling..whereas a guy who has a rank of 667(in TN) is called in ... now i dont have a problem if the guy was economically backward... but its painful to know that a guy a hundred ranks away has been called for counselling whereas i am still stuck goin nowhere... caste in itself doesnt make sense... the 21st century is on a different plane.. all the cast crap should be RESERVED for people who think they live in the 15th century or someting...and to know that this stuff is going to continue on a higher scale .. makes it suck all the more.. what a system

Now let u know why this is happening: Congress has lost all base in UP/Bihar, in Bihar and UP Yadavs control the ballot box, Sonia Gandhi wants to see Rahul become PM and in order to do so he needs UP and Bihar in the Congress bag, hence the reservation for OBCs to gain Yadav/Jat support, and Arjun Singh the "Edited" of the Nehru-Gandhi family(he touches Sonia's feet even though she could be his daughter, talk of sycophancy!) is only too eager to oblige.

As for this crap maybe people will start to vote just to keep congress away.. why is it that when it comes to vote bank politics the minorities are a majority.. maybe coz they vote and the rest dont..

Undertaker - get a life. Techboy's posts atleast provide humour, but you can spoil the mood even on a good day like this.
By the way, does anybody have reasonably accurate figures about the population % for OBC's in india. From what I have heard, the reservations don't seem too bad.
