Well an awesome thread to read. Have faced similar instances too.
One instance that i recollect (it's on me itself
):
Was my first time on a plane and was very excited, was doing my graduation back then. My parents had flown earlier so were quite aware about the procedures. We checked in and at the baggage counter, there was a weighing scale. I was too excited to go through the procedures and even before anyone could guide me, i was standing on the weighing scale. :ashamed:
The guy at the counter was shocked by the weight he saw on the screen (82kg to be precise
) and turned shockingly, giving the most weirdest look. I quickly knew that something i am doing is not right and i started covering my act with stupid explanations. All the passengers in the line started giggling and my parents too were laughing their guts out.
Darn it was embarrasing!
Another instance just happened yeasterday at work:
I work as a Demonstration Specialist at Bose Corporation Ltd. (Big words, cut short, i work in a retail outlet for Bose :upset
. So my work involves giving demonstration of all the systems that we retail. Now to experience the 5.1 setups we have a demo room and we explain all the components right from the 5 small speaker locations to the system and bass modules. We even tell what these do.
So, as a part of the demonstration we play a 5.1 dvd to showcase the surround sound aswell. Now, i attended a guy and his friend, asking for 5.1 setups. I showcased them the components and what they do and then to give an experience played a scene for them.
After the scene was played, this guy elbows his friend and yells at the top of his voice in marathi "asa vatla na maghun awaz ala, arre saglaa awaz tya boofer madhun yet hotaa, hai na bose zhakas!!!" (Didn't you feel that the sound was coming from the rear, well dude it was all coming from that WOOFER! Now isn't bose just amazing)
My reaction!!
Took me an hour to just explain how speakers work!! :annoyed:
