So this has happened with almost all of us at one point or the other. That is encountering a total noob (in terms of tech of course). So list down you encounters with total noobies

To start with,

In My office i had sent a video over bluetooth to a colleague. I even helped him start the bluetooth on his phone. Then at night he calls me and says that the video he deleted by mistake and can i send it again using bluetooth.

Lollzz :ohyeah::ohyeah:

This happened few years back when a friend of mine said that "Tereko pata hai ek software hai jisse apun log CD-ROM mein bhi DVD Read kar sakte hain"
 never encounter these kinda noobs

This happened during my college days. There was a computer shop by name "Computer Delite" in Ritchie St. Me and a friend were regulars there helping our classmates/relative/friends build new PCs. One day we got components for an AMD based PC for a close friend and as usual we started bargaining (we always do that and he knows that we'll do it. So quotes an initial price accordingly) and he came down with this "I can't reduce the price any further. You asked for an 'AMD Athlon XP 2600' but I've given you an 'AMD Athlon XP 2600 + ' " meaning that the "+" was a costlier/better option. I was dumbstruck for a moment, wanted to giggle but didn't since there were customers around.

My friend had just bought a new pc, and got a new internet connection to go along with it. This was back in the dial-up days when most people had just one phone number.
Over the next few days he disappears from the world and spends his time trying to catch up with all his old friends, and sends out dozens of emails using microsoft outlook express.
Days later he calls me and begins complaining how no ones replying to his messages, I tell him to give it time, people don't usually respond to every email instantly.
A few days later he calls me again, hopping mad. He told me that he'd sent me a message, but I hadn't replied to him as well. I was like, wtf, I'm checked my email right now and I didn't see anything from you. He was confused, and told me to wait while he sent it again. 5 secs later, with me still on the phone, he tells me he's sent it again.
After laughing my head off for 15 minutes, I explained, as gently as I could that he needs to use his dial-up connection to connect to the internet before he can actually send and receive any email, and how he's actually got to visit a web site to create an email account for himself before he can send any emails out.
He's not a noob anymore, but he's still highly entertaining.

Off-topic.....who remembers and would love to go back to the good old days when mtnl charged 1 rupee per call, and not 1 rupee for 3 mins?

:rofl:some of my friends says that they have 100 Mbps broadband when I ask them about their broadband speed
Many of my friends do that  And I really have to convince them into not believing so, they will with full confidence defend that they do actually have that kind of speed

i was in 7th std., the computer teacher was discussing about the basics of computer
he said: pc will not work without an air conditioner, and we were like ohhhh:ashamed:

i offer demo of carbon to a noob friend, he refused to take it saying
"game demos systetm kharab kar dete hain":S

i was playing cod4 on my "old" pc(p4, 1gb ram & onboard graphic chip), my friend saw that, and he liked it. He asked me to install it in his pc(he said to me he has the same configuration)
but when i was installing cod4 on his pc, i noticed that he has p2 and 512mb ram.
I told him about this. he said, no way its a p4, his cousin assembled his system for 10k.
i showed him cpuz, he said "software problem hogi":P
then i noticed p2 sticker on his cabinet, i showed him that.
finally thanks to that sicker he was convinced:P

i was out to nehru place to purchase a new mouse, i asked the person at computer empire that i want a usb mouse, he showed me a ps2 mouse, when i told him this a ps2 mouse, he said "dabba purana hai, mouse usb hi hai":P

This happened 1 year ago when I bought my first GPU which is a HD 4770 512MB version for 7.5k.When I told this to a friend of mine ,he said"arey, that shopkeeper cheated you man.I bought a 1gb gfx card for 2k."I couldn't stop laughing and he challenged me that he'll even show his gfx card if needed. He had bought a 8400gs,i tried to explain him that 8400gs is way slower than my gfx card and he doesn't believe this even today. He still maintains that his is 1gb and mine is 512MB...lol

Yes, a funny guy he was. He once made me assemble a PC for a customer and tipped me Rs. 100 for it (by the way this was my first earning!). The shop is no more.

Third year incident -

Teacher: So a router maintains a table of routes and looks it up, to decide on where to send the incoming packet.
Smartass and big fat ass girl(topper types actually), sitting on front bench : Sir, I have a genius Einsteinesque question
Teacher(with sparkle in his eyes for beautiful damsel) : Yes yes XYZ, please ask.
Smartass topper gal : How does Router know where to send the packet.
Teacher (excited) : It looks up in its routing table.
Smartass topper gal : But sir how does it lookup, it does not have any processors na.
Teacher : :<
A back bencher(not me ) : Haan baap ki dukaan hai Router ki, jaadu se chalega.Nahi chalega to network admin phoonk maar ke dhakka de dega packets ko.
topper gal(turns back, with confidence ) : Do you even know what a router is?
Few guys : :D
Rest of the gals : Wtf just happened?
