There is mroe than enough stock of 3570k's in the country if you are willing to look around. I see a few at almost every shop on SP Road in Bangalore. I cant imagine that it would not be available in Delhi and Mumbai as well, but I may be wrong.

For the 15k you plan to spend on the mobo, go for the Asus Max V gene instead. The features on thsi board will beat any of the boards you have mentioned, specially for overclocking...and trust me I have used a shitload of Asus and MSI mobos....

The vengence ram is not built for OC'ing so keep that in mind as well. Anyway if you do go for the high OC rams, you will again have an issue with budget, so I would suggest you stick with the Corsair itself for the time being.

3D gaming is overrated like hell...I tried it some time ago and trust me its not worth it at all. Driver issues and compatibility will cntinue to plague you and also since this is probably the 2nd or 3 rd generation of 3D we ar seeing in as many years, there are going to be a number of new techs added to this in the next year or so to make it mroe mainstream, which will mean all current hardwae will be outdated as well. Stick to 2 D for the time being and let them decide on a fixed format first. (eg, HD DVD vs. Blu Ray)

i looked for i5-3570k in mumbai around in may, found it was not stocked anywhere at all, some vendors were totally unaware of this release as well...
some told me tht, it is imported in very less stock like 10 or 20 at a time and they r getting sold out, maybe they r getting pre-orders at first or something like tht, i have not checked recently...

i found p8z77-v to be full feature packed compared to gene...

about vengeance, rated freq 1600Mhz is what i am settling for, i read one article i don't remember link now, but it said it would not make much performance difference beyond 1600MHz... and tighter timings... compared to its price... so i selected vengeance over others for its good heat sink design, availability in india, dual kit as alpha17 cleared the "need for dual kit" :happy26:

If you buy the boxed version of the processor then you will get covered under Intel's 3 year International Limited Warranty. So go ahead without fear.

Links that you might be interested in --
Processors — Warranty information;

Hope this helped.

apart from processor, which components i can get hassle-free without any warranty issue and at lower price compared to local price if i go for bulk order, means more than just processor so will get discount on shipping...

i tried to read both pages, but i did not find anywhere mentioned about warranty coverage....
can't they write in simple english, whether warranty is valid or not if shipped from other country???

is there any significant difference between HDMI and HDMI 1.3 considering PC Gaming and HTPC setup?

HDMI is a hardware standard so with each iteration new features are added to the same physical hardware. Case in point HDMI 1.4 added support for 3D in AMD HD 6*** series cards and each consecutive iteration also improves upon the standards supported + resolution / audio data that can be pumped through the same cable(s). So research on this topic before taking the plunge. Here is the wiki page for the same.

Hope this helps, Cheerio!!

There is not even a single configuration under 50K in this 3-page thread. Can anyone please suggest a gaming configuration under 50K or at least in it's vicinity please.

Intel Core i3 2120 ~6800/-
Intel DH67-BL ~5800/-
G.Skill RIPJAWS 4GB x1 1600MHz ~1700/-
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB ~4000/-
HP optical drive ~1000/-
AMD HD 7770GHz ~9000/-
Seasonic S12II 520W ~3800/-
NZXT Gamma ~2400/-
DeLL IN2030M ~6500/-
APC BR800VA-IN ~4000/-

Does this fit OP's bill?

@ALPHA17: AFAIK DH67BL mobos support RAM upto 1333 Mhz FSB, so there is no point purchasing those with higher frequencies as they will be underclocked on H67 boards. Op is better advised to go with H77 chipsets if he wishes to use 1600 Mhz FSB RAMs. Also, service for Seasonic is highly questionable in India. A couple of my friends have suffered as a result... The op is better off going for a Corsair or Cooler Master SMPS as they provide good aftersales services in India, mostly metros...

Seasonic is nowadayz very difficult to find either at online or local shop . Go with corsair as its A.S.S is very good . Anywayz here a 50k gaming pc suggestion

---------- Post added at 09:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:51 PM ----------

though budget was set for 50k but it went beyond tht, i did not want to settle for processor other than i5-3570k+Z77motherboard, so i am trying do build the rig in 2-3 phases, in first i will get essential components , then get GPU and maybe later add SSD and/or extra HDD
so,
Phase I ->Processor, Motherboard, RAM, SMPS, CPU Cooler, Cabinet, Optical drive, Keyboard+Mouse
Phase II -> GPU
Phase III -> SSD, HDD, RAM

@Detox101 I know that the Cougar-Point chipsets [Z68 / P67 / H67 / H61] do not support 1600MHz RAM modules but Intel has shifted the memory controller from the North-Bridge onto the processor [since Nehalem days], for that matter even these integrated memory controllers are limited to 1333MHz RAM in dual-channel mode.

But base over-volting is possible in most locked chipsets also, so if one does that and can set the RAM to run @1600MHz the performance gains are definitely worth it from the real-world perspective. Over 1600MHz the price-performance curve is shot to hell and the performance increment with every Hz is less pronounced [and price is prohibitive].

There are multiple articles on this topic, please read through these --> AnandTech - Sandy Bridge Memory Scaling: Choosing the Best DDR3 / DDR3 SDRAM for Sandy Bridge: Choosing the Best Memory for LGA1155 Platform - X-bit labs.

Sandy Bridge's improved memory controller has all but eliminated the need for extreme memory bandwidth, at least for this architecture. It's only when you get down to DDR3-1333 that you see a minor performance penalty. The sweet spot appears to be at DDR3-1600, where you will see a minor performance increase over DDR3-1333 with only a slight increase in cost. The performance increase gained by going up to DDR3-1866 or DDR3-2133 isn't nearly as pronounced.

Memory bandwidth does scale with CPU clock speed; however, it still doesn't translate into any meaningful real-world performance. The sweet spot still appears to be DDR3-1600. All of the extra performance gained by overclocking almost certainly comes from the CPU over-clock itself and not from the extra memory bandwidth.

The effects of low latency memory can be seen in our bandwidth tests, they don't show any real world advantage over their higher latency (ahem, cheaper) counterparts. None of the real-world tests performed showed any reason to prefer low latency over raw speed.

Hope this puts the point across, Cheerio!!

You will need atleast HDMI v. 1.3a to be on a respectable standing for second TV duties. Also, the rest of the frills like Dolby-DTS bitstream support + DTS-HD Master bitstream support are hardware as well as software compatible standards so you will need devices capable of this on your RIG.

So research on these individual standard and decide whether you want them OR not, will use them OR not.

The HDMI-IN connector on the HD 78** card will be most likely the v.1.4 standard.

Hope this helps, Cheerio!!

i that case, it narrows down to E2220HD, G2420HD and so on which have HDMI 1.3 (1.3 has almost same features with 1.3a/b/c)
for HDMI 1.4, it is for 3D purpose mainly,

HDMI 1.4 is available on high-end 3D monitors which are very expensive....
so it leaves 3 options, either
settle close to it i.e. HDMI 1.3/1.3a/b/c
or
just buy any HDMI-IN monitor
or
wait for 3D monitor prices to come down, go for DVI-IN monitor with full HD (LCD/LED preferrable) (which might happen in 1-2 years)

I also wonder what will be the use of headphone jack if monitor use is for PC mostly?
PC already has 2 audio out, one at rear panel and one in front panel...
so, is DVI better option over HDMI if both can have Full HD resolution?

also, power consumption plays important role... some are very efficient around 25W and some are power hungry, almost 60+W Power consumption... (LED backlit is more power efficient over LCD but lacks on response time, with some exceptions)

So research on these individual standard and decide whether you want them OR not, will use them OR not.

The HDMI-IN connector on the HD 78** card will be most likely the v.1.4 standard.

Hope this helps, Cheerio!!

Yesterday, I checked at Lamington Road, Mumbai, realised both i5-3570k and Z77motherboard are still not "launched in Mumbai???"
also, Corsair Carbide 400R was also not available... there were 300 and 500 available models....

I do not know about the availability in Bombay mate. Z77 motherboards are long out in Bombay and most online retailers stack them [Prime ABGB, The IT Lounge and hardwire.in] do not know who you visited but they are really behind times.

If the Carbide 400R is not available, go for the NZXT Tempest EVO ~6000/- OR Cooler Master HAF 912 Advanced ~6000/-.

Hope this helps, Cheerio!!

if only video signals are required to transmit to monitor, is there significant difference between DVI and HDMI?
audio signals can be taken from rear and front panel of CPU as i mentioned earlier... so what about headphone jack feature on monitor?

I am scaling down from HDMI simply because HDMI 1.4 monitors are out of budget for now... though will be looking for full HD resolution i.e. 1080p standard!!!
