I guess flip cover won't be the best idea as it will make it difficult to use buttons of one side.
How about a silicon case?

I am worried about a cover just to provide protection to this little creature from accidental bangs and drops.

i have a flip-cover on my infibeam pi, and i find myself many times using it out of the cover for the very same reason that you mentioned. such a cover would be better rather for protection of the device while travelling. a silicone-cover seems to be better-suited for regular, general usage.
 
Wait for a few days. At least till @eternoMind gets his flip cover delivered. He will be able to tell us if the flip cover hinders the normal operation of the Nook.

Will a sleeve be good enough for protecting the screen?
I will most likely be carrying the NST to office a few days in a month. I will be traveling by bus. For such a usage scenario, wont a flip cover be the best option for protecting the screen?

@drkrack Have you tried PDF's on the Nook? Did the PDF's have any image or were they text only PDF's? Does the device lag when you are using PDF's? Or is the performance while reading PDF and ePUB files, the same?
 
@drkrack, thanks for the details. Will get back to you in case of doubts when I do mod the NST as at the moment, I'm pretty content reading ePubs on it. However, I asked cause I also had a lot of non-image PDFs that I wanted to read using ezPDF (paid version) on the Nook at a later stage perhaps. And btw, that's one hell of a deal on the NST mate :D.

I understand the concerns with a flip cover as I did give it a though myself. I'd be glad to post my impressions of my flip case once it arrives including the ergonomic and protection aspects of it. I wanted my NST to be absolutely safe from drops, damage from foreign objects, vibrations and hence went with the flip cover. In the close to 4 hours of reading I have managed on the NST since its arrival, I haven't yet used the side buttons (too clunky IMO). Also, I intend to read outside, which again titled the scales towards the flip case. Anyways, it'd be great if you guys can wait for a few days for my impressions on the flip cover.

@prateekS, I wonder why you felt the need to post your convos here. You had a spare NST to sell, good.
Why insert the rest of the stuff is beyond me and TBH, quite out of place and irritating on this thread.
 
^ Because this is a GO thread, in case you missed the title , and i did order multiple NST as part of the GO , NOT FOR SELLING them .If u feel irritated , u just ignore the message.

This guy wasted 2 weeks of mine , and people need to be aware who they are dealing with , and last i checked this is a public forum , not owned by you or me.

I don't know. Still don't think posting PM convos is done. Especially on this thread.

Anyways, I said this in that post as well, it's great you have a spare NST to sell but the rest was needless in that post. And why can't I voice an opinion without making you or anyone else feel I own the forum :confused:.
